I did not know schools did this! Is it a lesson with kids? I would always look for the basics (I’m not sure this would constitute “beyond the obvious”) (I’ve learned never to assume!) 1. Does teacher use time wisely? Have a good- over planned-plan? When using questions, does teacher know how to use constructive and positive feedback? Are procedures established? (For example “CHAMPS” method? I’m truly curious how your process works and what it looks like! Let me know if you will!
I just had my first demo lesson on Friday and I think they were looking for the things you described along with the "it factor", if you will. It was so short, but I packed in behavior expectations, a little relationship-building (hard to do in a room full of 24 second graders who have never met you!), a mini lesson, and some group work. The "debrief" after the lesson was really just more interview questions, so I didn't get any feedback at all! I'll be interested to get their feedback soon.
