When you guys are asking for referrals, do you wait to apply to the job before getting one…or let the person referring help you out after applying? I haven’t been on a job hunt in a long time and am new to this. I’m nervous to await a referral and let the opportunity slip away or see the posting close.

How valid do you all think Glassdoor salary ranges are? Backstory; old company was acquired by a new company week 1 of my employment. (3 years ago). Was poking around at the salary ranges for my position and it seems I am vastly being underpaid. I don’t even know where I would begin to start this conversation with my boss or HR. I did take a significant pay cut when I took this job cause I was desperate- but now seeing the new company ranges they are much more on par to what I had been making.
