Hi guys, Currently working as an Embedded Software Developer at TVS Motor and got an offer of 18.5 LPA (3.3 years of experience) from KPIT. What to do? I was asking HR related to job role and project details, he told that when I'll join, they will deploy me to suitable project. Please guide me to decide.Kpit technologies, KPIT, TVS Motor Company

I hugged my principal the first time I saw him after a project was over. He looked surprised as I was going in for the hug but it was too late for me to pull back. We aren't even that close but now we hug every time we see each other so it's not weird anymore. I regularly hug other principals/partners that I'm more close with though. People think I'm friendly because I'm Canadian but I think it does have something to do with our firm!
As far as your being Canadian (me too) I'd say that may put you in the less huggy side of stereotypes. A lot of us are pretty shy/aloof until we let someone into our close circle. Americans I find to be almost premature at opening up to people.
Meh, you'll be fine as long as it wasn't gropey 💁🏼
I slipped my spare hotel room key in your handbag ;)
Jeez OP take a joke
@slalom I don't know what you're trying to get at but if anything the issue is that I'm so close with my coworkers that I often forget that it's important to try to maintain professional relationships / boundaries. If you came here to bash other firms pls just leave there's enough of that elsewhere
@op do you need a hug

OW...the super "friendly" company
People that don't hug take themselves way too seriously
I hug my coworkers all the time; and my clients! 🤷🏼♀️
I'm a hugger too!
Lol slalom is full of douchebags anyway!
I would do the same!
There are a few European partners I work with and the first time they went in for a cheek kiss I was thrown off; you learn to read people and their preferred hello-goodbye method.
I'm a total hugger. Co-worker, clients, vendor reps... We're the happiest consulting folks you'll ever meet. Nearly hugged Brad (our CEO) once- that one is a no-no though.
First project OP? Congrats
No need to worry. Hugs are understood to be the handshake some people give. I find them charming. And I have to admit that when another guy gives me one of those handshake half-hugs, it really makes me feel close and endears me to him.
^"also I don't care if you don't like it. Everyone gets a grope"
Twice now I have gone in for an end of project handshake and had the partner turn it into a hug.
Grew up in the Deep South where if you don't hug it's offensive and now work in the NE and this is probably my biggest internal issue consistently
We don't hug here
