Signed an offer last year during the worst of the pandemic for a lower level than my peers. Been with the firm 5 months now. Looking for advice: Would you recommend leaving to get the level you deserve outside of the firm with short stint on resume, or sticking through it with the firm knowing promotion is not guaranteed in same timeframe?
Any good websites with promotion on Aeron Chairs
Maybe I'm too much of a economist/ accountant but I don't believe the wage gap in the US is accurate. I believe it has more to do with career choices and the % of women who stop working to raise a fam
I’m a young first-time tech entrepreneur. Business has been going well and we are going through a raise process. All my life I have had serious imposter syndrome. I constantly feel like I’m not good enough and it feels embarsssing to share because I am suppose to be strongest face of the company. Will this mindset ruin me and future success? How do you ladies battle with this?
NYC Tax2 to Senior1...is 85K a reasonable expectation? Anyone successfully negotiated their standard raise in the past. what strategy did you use? How did you approach the discussion? what outcome?
Is the grass always greener. I’m super happy in my current job. I like my coworkers, I get to do the projects that I want, and I have an all around good support network. I have also built my reputation up enough to the point where I have a lot of flexibility and can control how I work. But sometimes it bothers me knowing that I could leave and get a significant raise. Reading fishbowl it seems like everyone chases money regardless of how happy they are currently
Where can we check the milestone year? New at Deloitte, hired as Consultant with 6+ YOE. Wanted to know if I would be eligible for promotion next year?
At a boutique firm for just over a year, I know this isn’t the best place for my growth, but a promotion is coming. Am I better of sticking around or try to go to MBB or big 4 at an associate level?
I received an offer from another agency (Agency B) that's a 15% pay bump, but I am happy at my current agency (Agency A). I have asked Agency A for a raise to match that (not mentioning I had another offer) but it will take them a few weeks to come back to me, and Agency B are wanting a response soon... What do I do? Do I go for the money? Do I tell my boss I have another offer on the table?
30+ single ladies: how do we lead better lives as singles? I’ve dated a lot of egoistic narcissistic jerks in the last few years. Losing hope that there are decent men left in their late 30s.. I want to have a meaningful life but don’t know if I’d be able to raise a child by myself. I don’t have many friends in the areas I move around for work. Dreading the day when I won’t have any support system. How should single women approach life in 30s when bio clock’s ticking and its all darkness..
Advice wanted: My firm lied about our raises this year. They said we’d match the other top 10 firms, and that was absolute BS. I’m having a hard time staying motivated. I’m doing senior level work without the title or pay. Fresh college grads are getting paid more than me. I’m already job searching, but I feel bad that I don’t have the same drive as I did before when I thought I would be receiving a proper raise. I learned my lesson. Any advice for a young professional?
Recently received an offer from a mid-size public firm and unsure if I should consider the opportunity. I’m currently in S1 SALT in NJ. The details are below: - Pay: $80k (12% upward bump than what I’m getting right now) - Title: Semi senior, but up for promotion in July if all goes well - Role: General tax, but mainly federal tax. One of the main reasons I’m considering -Location: Technically NYC, but assuming I do well while we are still remote I can work out of NJ 3 days after covid ends
Would anyone move to a different firm that is unstable but gives a promotion plus 50% increase for same job?
Can someone describe the work culture at Roland Berger for me? I’m curious to know what the work life balance is like, whether the PMs and Partners are generally nice, and what the promotion process would be like for an experienced hire (is it fair?))
Anyone threatened to straight up quit with nothing else lined up as a way to negotiate a raise?
Has anyone negotiated after getting a promotion for a higher increase? Can you share your experiences, rationale, and outcome?
Are there any good reasons for sharing your promotion with your connections via LinkedIn? As opposed to just changing title without the notification?
Foreign fishes, any of you having a hard time trying with the VISA process when switching jobs right now?
Can anyone from LMI share their thoughts on company culture, benefits, likes/dislikes, etc? Have an interview on Friday and would love some insights. Thank you!
Looking into Vegas trip. Are there any SPG hotels on the strip you'd recommend? Or would I have a better time not staying at at Starwood hotel?
Hi Guys - I am looking for the job change. Can anyone please help me with referral? YOE - 7 Skill - Selenium QA automation/Tech lead role
KPMG folks - do managers get to expense their monthly cellphone bills? Im new to the firm. Thx!
Happy Friday! I noticed a lot of convos about health, long hours, and relationships this week. While you put yourself first this weekend, don't forget to also put yourself in others' shoes. #reflect
ZS vs KPMG vs Roland Berger? US NE office Have an offer to join rb or zs trying to determine if I should. strategy work at KPMG almost non existent in my practice. Not super hyped on healthcare but also don’t mind it. What are your thoughts? It’s basically ZS brand in NA seems to be better than RB, RB has more diverse clients and strong brand in EU
Literally have no motivation anymore. So sick of doing proposal and BD work for projects that don't sell, been on the bench over a month, and feel like there's no end in sight. No help from leadership
I’m currently in biglaw and interviewing for an in house role. I had an interview with HR where they asked my salary expectations and I basically said I’m flexible but the opportunity is what’s important to me. They then said their targeting x amount for the role and I said that was in the ballpark of what I would consider. Does anyone have experience with this line of questioning from HR and has anyone negotiated for higher than the number they initially said they were targeting?
How’s EY Dallas? Culture /hours?

How is it that you can fly with a baby in your lap with no seatbelt—yet laptop in the seat back pocket is not allowed. I promise you getting hit with a projectile baby is gonna hurt!!
After getting laid off 2 weeks ago, I fired off about 20 resumes to different places. I have not received any feedback at all. Any ideas how to get past the computer and in front of someone?
Just got a ping from Facebook for a role as a Decision Scientist- from the description seems like it could be BI/analytics/D.S. Role with an emphasis on “understand how users feel”??? It’s very vague. Anybody out there have experience with Decision Scientist? How technical? How independent? Etc?
Anyone quit B4 before lining up another job? I’ve been interviewing for a couple of roles and haven’t gotten any green lights yet but I honestly dread the thought of going back to work tomorrow.
Ever had 3 rounds of interviews with a company and then they just went complete ghost on you? Yep, happened to me 🙃
I know many people do an MBA after 2 years at MBB. Can you do a PhD instead? Does the firm encourage its employees to pursue a PHD? I am currently prepping for interviews, and I am wondering whether I should mention or not that my long term goal is to pursue a PHD and that my experience at MBB will allow me to gain more industry knowledge and identify the biggest problems faced by companies/governments
Have a Facebook Data Science interview in a week. Any of you gone through the process - please share. They say it will be online SQL coding first.
