Trying to figure out if I dislike my job or if I’m just mad I had to come back from vacation😂
Why don't more (white collar) Americans take breaks in-between jobs? Like a month or two summer break. Is this mindset that you need to work all the time a vestige from back when people would work at the same company for 40 years until they die?
Are you supposed to tip building staff for the holidays in large apartment communities? The last place I lived in was a condo where most people owned and they would always send out a holiday tipping form in December but I haven’t received anything like that in my new place. There also isn’t a list of staff either so I’m not sure how to figure out who to tip beyond a few people who have helped me out more frequently.
How do you feel about your firm's benefits package, on retirement (401K), PTO, parental leave, and health insurance? Curious to see whether and how you think your firm needs to make adjustments.
Junior associates: What is an appropriate amount to spend on a holiday gift for your secretary?
@Accenture, What to do after switch to CDO? I was C&M and my PTO and benefits are going down now. My job will become more implementation b&tch work. I’m so mad but trying to channel my anger instead.
Just had a very uncomfortable conversation with a partner. I have some time off booked to go to my brother’s wedding (I’m the best man). We were chatting and I mentioned that my brother’s future husband is so nice and really a great guy, and we already consider him a member of our family. Partner’s tone immediately shifts and as we’re ending the call he says, “Okay, enjoy the time with your family at the civil ceremony.” Like… girl you live in California, you cannot be this backward.
Doing personal travel on the weekend before the holiday and cringing at how inefficient & slow everyone is.
Going to Italy for vacation. Rome > Pompeii > Amalfi Coast > Florence > Milan > Venice. Too much for 13 days? Any advice would be hugely appreciated!
How much PTO do you get a year? I’ve been seeing 10 or 15 days for new employees and that is really low to me. Is this normal?
Do you guys get anxiety about being the point of contact for all projects? Having to see everything, follow up with everyone, knowing all the ins and out? How do you take time off? I’m not a PM but I’m building a process and looking for ways to not be tied to every steps.
you guys my 1yr old dog keeps attacking people so we can’t take him out anymore, he’s unpredictable and we’ve had two vets experience this and tell us to put him down. he doesn’t attack us but we can’t never leave our house, never go on vacation again, never leave more than 4-5hrs at a time…. how big of a pos am i if i consider the advice??
How do your firms do payroll? This is like the 5th time in 26 months that paychecks weren’t timely deposited. Allegedly, the boss did everything right and this is something in the payroll company. But his stuff is getting crazy and everyone is out on PTO, I’m kinda like: meet minimum ethical obligations and no more. Once or twice, I understand. But this is becoming regular.
I’m planning a destination wedding in Europe, and I’m assuming the guests who join us will likely stay for a week + and make a vacation out of it. With that in mind, is the week of Memorial Day a great choice since people will have the additional day off, or rude since people might have other plans? I’m leaning towards the former but would love some input!
How great would office emojis be in this app?

Any productivity tips when you're literally working 18 hours / day? I like using the pomodoro technique where I work for 25 min and then take a 3-5 min break
I have a coworker on a project who is not contributing their fair share... I'm afraid I'm already viewed as too aggressive in the group so I haven’t been vocal about it. I think I may stay silent.

Choosing to be homeless for the next 3 months. Pad rented out to airbnber. Hopefully my project will keep me on for that time. I’m single, no kids and homeless. And loving it. #homelessconsultant

When your "day off" lasts two hours.
I owe a lot of my career to the PPD on my project, but she's making me eat hours like CRAY. Worry that stirring the pot will ruin the relationship, honestly is it worth it to nurture the relationship?
