Taking over a former coworker's project that was 50% completed sucks.

I'm on a long term project (at least 4-6 months) and I stay at the same hotel each week. I wanted to get your thoughts on tipping (i.e. valet guys for a cab). Do you tip everyday each time?

SO has an offer from big 4 but current company wants to keep them longer. SO has offered to do it part time (20 hrs) until the project can be transitioned to someone else. Is it allowed to do 2 jobs (one full time, one part time) on an H4 EAD (could be 2 ish months)? Any concerns from an independence perspective?

Is it helpful to bring up considerations that aren’t case-specific (e.g. what does our portfolio with this client look like, have we delivered similar work before, does our client have a preferred method for delivery, etc?) These are all things I think about on the job, but I know they’re not completely relevant to a random case interview

Got put on a project I hate, but I love the team and the group. I guess now's the time to tell them I'm aligning with a different practice. 😀

Been unhappy and stuck at my big law firm for a couple years. Mentor set me up with a secondment with a client. Still trying to feel out client, but mentor is trying to convince me to take in-house position if it comes up. I do not like the town the client is located in, and I’m not sure of the salary. There is a team that I will be interviewing for. The salary is between 63-65k from the recruiter's statement. As of right now, I make around 50k. Desc: Assist in leading client meetings to resolve individual member issues and to solve larger service-related issues within operations that may impact multiple members and serve on a team that is the single point of contact for internal client engagement support and member experience. I have two contract offers: One is about Data Management/Quality project for 6 months, the pay is 5000£ per month, the other is product data scientist for an early stage startup based in San Francisco for 4 months, the pay is a lot lot less (less than 1000£ per month).
