Yes. I hate that shit. It's like why not just say the truth or that it's inconclusive? Because then the client won't feel like they got any value out of us? Oh well at least I'm not looking at efficacy of a drug or something.
There's a fine line and I don't know what it is. But I do feel like "omission" is one thing and fudging it is another. I can't see any manager or project lead who wants to keep their job asking their analyst to straight up alter the data.
