Just received a verbal beat down from the client for something that is specifically listed in our agreement as theirs to own. Headed to dinner to mainline some wine. 🙋🏻♀️🍷
Sitting at my desk, basking in a glorious post leg day feeling, smell of a mild perfume and freshly brewed coffee, my dog gently snoring at my feet, the warm golden rays of the sun streaming through the windows, sending reflections of rainbow across the room, and a client saying “great job Deloitte, the leadership loved the presentation last night”. It’s a good day!
Any tips on introducing new processes or software to a large legacy account? Im at a pretty big agency and its very clear we need software to help with project management and reviewing work internally
🐠 in NJ - have you received your tax returns? I filed for the first time in February because I had a project there for a month and haven’t heard anything.
At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?
My bff is die hard Delta fan and the only Delta flight to and from client site requires a 1-stop layover. And so he still does it? On a scale of 1 to ‘intervention time’, how crazy do you think he is?
Your mgr gets negative client feedback & uses the occasion to tell you everything they hate about you but insists you stay bc you have one of the highest bill rates long term. What would you do?
Help please! I haven't found a "flow" in talking about my consulting experience/I think I have awkward transition when switching client exps (for ex, i would say at my first client i did this..cont.)
This project is running itself to the ground faster than coffee with milk running through my lactose intolerant body.
So....driving to client city not flying, 3hrs away, so expensing mileage there. If I use uber once there instead of my car can I expense that, as I normally would, as opposed to expensing the mileage
When you realize you aren't flying out tomorrow because your client demands you be on site Mon-fri each week. Help me.
Joined a new consulting company and the first project I am assigned is not that exciting. Should I quit or request to change a project?
SMs/Ps - what are ur expectations for Cs on ur team?? Why does my SM constantly asks what I’m up to and wants me to present materials to him?? Whenever I present asks super hard questions? Asked for my coach’s name twice now two weeks into the project. I thought u guys know that Cs are doing all the bkgrd prep and not always in front? How do I deal with this micromanage pressure? Already working 12/6, and cannot deal with this.
Anyone who had a strict dress code in your office or on client site - what do you wear on zoom now? Does no one care, or do you still have to dress up somewhat?
I’m so scared I’ll say “Love you” to a client.
Can a startup agency use employee’s client lists from old jobs to get work? Not the case studies, but just the names. I’ve seen it before.
How bad is to recline an offer (client side)? Firm came back and agreed for me to move to a different practice I wanted.
Does anyone else not care about forming client relationships? Like bruh, I just wanna do my job that’s it…
Any other ladies out there with depression or anxiety? If so, what are some things you do to help yourself professionally when you've hit one of your low points?
What do you do if you’re on a project and they do not give you enough work? I keep getting variances the last couple weeks, and I’m afraid I’ll get in trouble over this.
Has a thank you E-Mail after an interview ever changed your mind? If so, what about it helped to change your mind?
Accepted big four FT as campus hire after the summer internship junior year. my interests changed from 2 years ago when I was a junior. I realized I hate traveling/consulting..please advise 😭
Would you take the following offer: Base - ~$180K; Bonus - ~$30K; RSU - ~$15k; Total Comp - ~$225K; F500 firm, not tech, mid-west, individual contributor role with potential for senior roles in 2 years. Good WLB, but not the most interesting industry. Currently working at a T2 Strategy Consulting firm, 2.5 years out of a T10 MBA. $200K all in. 7 YoE. Happy with consulting so far and performing well, but would like better WLB. How much better are tech exit ops given SF cost of living?
Drinking seems to be built into big law atmosphere/ central to networking. Any tips or lessons learned?
Sigh battery dead on key reader for hotel room door. Waiting for maintenance guy. Do I ask for points ? 😂
I had my BCG interviews yesterday (remotely) and feel I completely bombed them. Yet, I haven’t heard back from recruiting thanking me for my interest. Is there still hope?
I’m going to be lead on a new project and I’m super nervous about it. My PM for the brand told me everyone is watching this project. Any tips?
Is it normal in Big 4 to: 1. Assign tasks with least amount of direction, context and criticize for not thinking on the feet? 2. Assign more than one task at the same time and push for updates on all?
For those of you who are interviewing with MBB and trying to transition from B4/ACN, are you currently in strategy roles at your respective firms?
How have people approached using a competing offer to increase comp at current firm. Currently at boutique with below mkt pay. Enjoy the firm in almost every way. Is there any harm in asking a match?
I may be paranoid - I have been having a runny, congested nose, with occasional sneezing. It got worse this evening. No other symptoms. I just saw midwife today and didn’t think much of it until this evening when it felt worse. They took my temperature there-no fever. Anyone have pregnancy rhinitis? Scared it’s Covid but I could also likely be overreacting.
MD2......4 years until vested, a little more than 6 until I can comfortably retire. Love working with clients and practitioners, but SO tired of the politics/ego game. Is going internal an option?
