Which service line?

I wouldn't post this info in a public forum either. Firm financials are internal topics.

like

@D3 it's not like layoffs havent been heavily discussed here or anything...

like

@M1: I wouldn't be asking that question in a public forum...

Yeah I won't say. But I've heard the firm as a whole isn't making plan either.

YoY is still showing an increase... but way under plan...

@M1 yes ... bad form

Seriously? Haha. If we're drawing lines in the sand, why did you even start complaining about DT missing plan? Like that doesn't give away info that you're not supposed to share (sarcasm). 😂

I don't think being above or behind plan is super secret. I bet your partners tell their SO who tell their friends who tell others etc, etc. this is no different.

I never said discussing layoffs is appropriate either. And that doesn't make discussions financials appropriate!

So, is discussing layoffs against some sort of policy at DT?? How exactly can they hide that it happened? One day the person is there, the next day suddenly their email doesn't work.

We crushed it and blew away out plan. Raises still sucked

Layoffs are always discussed. It would have been around a water cooler or a bar in the 60's. M1 is right. Any good lawyer will tell you not to have a policy a firm can't enforce and there is no way they could enforce that. It's human nature to commiserate on "bad crap" and celebrate on "good things". OP's post causes no harm whatsoever.

wouldn't suggest taking it to service line level detail.

Analyst has been unresponsive for past 2 weeks, VP and I (Associate) confirm that it’s to both of us. Perhaps analyst found a new job or whatever but shouldn’t leave us in the dark. At what point do we raise this with the Staffer? I don’t want to feel like a snitch, but VP hasn’t addressed with staffer either so not sure if I should raise? Been working as the analyst on existing staffing in the meanwhile cuz work still needs to get done.

Advice wanted: My firm lied about our raises this year. They said we’d match the other top 10 firms, and that was absolute BS. I’m having a hard time staying motivated. I’m doing senior level work without the title or pay. Fresh college grads are getting paid more than me. I’m already job searching, but I feel bad that I don’t have the same drive as I did before when I thought I would be receiving a proper raise. I learned my lesson. Was hired into a company at a level that was more junior than my skills (Was out of work due to pandemic for a year). I’ve been at the company 5 months. We’re going through a reorg and my new position will really be leveraging my years of experience more so than other role. Is it appropriate to discuss a raise/adding senior to title? Or should I do the job and then prove myself then talk about raise. I have more experience than the senior members of my team. New leadership than when I was hired

Recently received an offer from a mid-size public firm and unsure if I should consider the opportunity. I’m currently in S1 SALT in NJ. Pre-Covid - being told that they can give you a 2.5% raise only due to limit policies - does that mean it's true, or that you did a terrible job and only getting a slight increase because you asked?
