When you’re not doing 40+ work weeks what do you do in your free time to stay grounded and contribute to the community? I’m the last 2 years I’ve had to juggle b/w work and school - I struggled to find time to do things I want to do. Now that I’m done I can do rewarding work like work with NGOs that support refugees and aid in education. Want to hear from Y'all. I’ve been restless x

FYI I am based in London (new here), I imagine there are plenty opportunities but haven’t found anything solid.

Hi all,

I've 3 yoe in techno-functional domain.
I wish to go into technical (development) profile now, but not as a fresher. I want to continue with 3 yoe.
But the issue is, I have no (dev) project to show in interview as an 3 yoe person.

I've learned Java, springboot, restfulAPIs, kafka, but still hesitant to go for interviews as I do not have projects to discuss.

I shall be very thankful to you if you help me here.
How/where can i go to make projects now to justify 3yoe?

Potentially joining Deloitte as a senior consultant in the near future and from working in the industry I know how important it is to build a network. In the age of working from home, what’s the best way to do this? Obviously working close with your team and communicating as much as possible but it’s never the same without being there in person. Does anyone have recommendations on how to build a good network from home and outside of you own team?

Hey peeps,

Received an offer to join industry in London and would love to hear your thoughts.

Was at McK for 2 years in Germany (just promoted to Associate, 2 years to EM).

Offer is for a retailer (think clothing). GBP 100k base, GBP 125k TC. Role would be in the strategy department. No team leadership role (drawback vs. EM'ing at McK).

Any thoughts/ experiences on:
- moving from DE to London coming from consulting into industry?
- is the offer good? QoL with 100k in London?

Thanks!
