As account managers, establishing and reaffirming client expectations is a huge part of our jobs (Or at least mine). From the Client side, what is your experience with an AM correcting expectations after an AE said we could do something that we couldn't quite do?

I am on a team that manages relationships with the banks that hold brokerage accounts for a large Asset Management firm. I have gained an enormous amount of experience (relationship mgmt, project mgmt, analysis), and compensation is decent - $85k base with $25k bonus - but I have no idea what my top earning potential would be if I switched companies or pursued another role. Job A: Project Engineer. 135K/yr base. 10% signing bonus.

Job B: Senior Project Manager. Contract. $60/hr standard. $90/hr overtime.

I have a tech background and 12 years of experiencem I have always done both project and product management. I'm now switching jobs and have received two very good offers. One as senior technical project manager, one as senior product manager. Somehow I'm more attracted by the company that offered me the project management position, but the other company, offering a role in senior product management, pays way more. I'm unsure about what career is better for my future and growth potential.

I like DD work more than the boring project/IMO/SMO work but cannot put up with working weekends given the salary (I came from IB where you are actually paid for this time).

So embarrassed. I literally had one job to do today which was to schedule a client and give and take her paperwork when she came in. Totally called her by the wrong name today AND gave her the wrong paperwork. She was really nice about it but I feel like my boss was disappointed and I'm disappointed in myself.
