Whenever there is a profit for particular organization each and every employees contribution present in it. But when there is a loss why employees are thrown away from organization in the name of layoffs. Instead they can just reduce the salary amount and pay for everyone until situation gets better. Isn't the responsibility of employer to ensure job security for each employees not only at good times but also during bad times

Does anyone at Rutgers know where I can find a flexible part-time job for students on campus? I only found two campus positions on handshake and haven’t heard back from either yet. I feel like there has to be a lot more out there than what I’ve seen on handshake

A lof of good people will leave anyway coz they are more likely to find a job elsewhere. So no point for the companies in doing this coz they will anyway loose the creamy layer sooner or later.
No. Shedding the fat is important sometimes
Even i was thinking the same.... though i don't have much idea about all these stuff...but reducing the salary to half isn't a better choice than laying off and paying severance?
If u reduce salary by 50% i guess that could make up 6 months salary.... instead of paying 3 month severance
The amount is same
They r thinking long term

No. Why if am a good performer should work for less salary because they need to keep some underperfromers jobs?
By the way companies do that by reducing variable pay. But they can't just reduce fixed for everyone. We all join private organizations and we know their primary role is to make profit.not to give jobs. Why are we complaining now?
