Newbie question here. From what I’ve read and learned people typically take two FIRE approaches: 1. REI and 2. Index funds. First, am I missing anything else? Second, if you did the index fund version, and you retire at say 30-35, how do you use that money? Isn’t it locked in until 59 1/2?

I analyze profitability, make recommendations on growth and new procedure ideas, prepare proforma’s, run a surgeon gain-sharing program, Leading a $10M system savings project. What would your org call me?

Hi-seeking opinions here. I am a DON for our ambulatory care organization. My direct supervisor is the COO who reports to our CEO. Underneath me are all the clinic managers and ADON. We are all RNs. Our CEO now wants ALL the nursing leaders to regularly work on the floor as well. It’s not a matter of short staffing. I’m concerned re: safety of patients, and also the fact that all our main tasks will not get done. Performing all tasks well may mean burnout for some. Thoughts?

I have a friend coming over today and I’m making a charcuterie board for the first time. I’m having anxiety about it loll. I have a desserts board and a cheese and meats board. Shopping for all the items alone took forever and now setting them up seems like a huge challenge. Tips?

Immigrant here who did not grow up with typing lessons. I still type very inefficiently — I have to look at keys when I type.
Has anyone used a typing program as an adult that has taught you well and got you out of old bad typing habits?
What was your pre-training speed, your post-training speed, and the time it took you to get there?

Feeling like a horrible father today. I always make sure that I’m loving and happy and excited when I’m with my son, mainly bc my father was an emotionally unavailable narcissist. But yesterday I lost my temper trying to get his movie going on his kindle tablet in the car and ended up smashing it to pieces.

How important is to get along with significant other’s friends? Finding that we come from completely different worlds ( i’m a consultant and he is in the service industry ) so hard to connect with people i don’t seem to have a lot in common with. I make the attempt, but sometimes i feel like it’s better off if he spends time alone w them. A little afraid this will be an issue later in our relationship

The worst part about working two jobs in the event of The great resingnation is staff shortage and doing other people's job. As a immigrant, it is freaking tough cause you can't quit until your pr. I'm 23, working up to the maximum limit, no social life, just wandering through life. In this market, where people are 100k+ in high finance, I'm the one learning to sell mutual funds and gics. And for the most part, being a teller.
I need to vent this out.
