Post anywhere you want but I keep feeling like the important thing here is to train your recruiters to really open their eyes to diverse candidate resumes and train your interviewers to ask only appropriate, job-specific questions.

Unconscious Bias training and similar programs for recruiters and hiring managers might help you increase your pool of diverse talent

like

I completely agree with the others on making sure to train your recruiters first, because there can be a large disconnect between recruiters and the candidate.

I’d also look into posting in various professional development groups with different targeted audiences.

Myself, being a Latina creative in Chicago- I follow Freelancing Females, Prosponica Chicago, AIGA, #WeAllGrow Latina, and Ladies Get Paid. All of these groups either have a job dashboard or job postings by their employees.

It’s super nice that you’re looking to find ways in increasing your diversity at Golin. If you’re based in Chicago, I’d love to connect :)

Seconding Ladies Get Paid. I use it to recruit diverse female talent and I love it. So many amazing candidates there!

Our company is doing an unconscious bias seminar next month. Probably good for all
Companies to be doing that!

I would also advise working your network - what city are you in? I have made some great friends and connections in more diverse communities (and Portland is the least diverse place I have ever lived) through a range of events and some political events. Emerge, Indivisible etc Black United Fund in each state etc. PM me if you want to talk.

also try working with universities who have a higher percentage of ethnic backgrounds

I flunked out of school and had no options when I joined the army. I hated every second of my time in, and spent all my weekends getting as drunk as possible.

Now that I’m out, I graduated with my BA in Econ, got a job I love, and somehow got into an M7 Bschool with a 670 GMAT. I look back on my time in and laugh, and still talk with some of my old army buddies (though not as often anymore)

Amazing how time can change your perspective, because 10 years ago I never thought I’d be here.

Due to inflation at its highest rate since 1982, I feel that I am not being paid enough. I can’t afford things on a day to day basis and I think I can make the same amount of money in gig jobs for cash downtown. During the Trump administration I was doing just fine financially - now it costs me so much just to get to work. Is it appropriate to have an inflation conversation with my bosses or should I just pick up shifts as a bartender at night - I need to make about 600 more a month to make it.

I have a job opportunity that will be a lateral move from my current position. It will grant me exposure to external communications and public relations versus what I have experience in, Internal.
