Big fan of Axios Pro Rata. Highly recommend PitchBook News as well. Would talk to friends in banking and private equity to get a better lay of the land. There’s only so much you can learn without being in the game yourself.

Your PE practice and annual report on the space are a trove of relevant, contextual information. However in addition to above I would recommend PEI and their Operating Partner playbooks, vol 1&2. Expensive manuals, but data rich on DILOs & best practices from both PE and consultant perspective .

Great question - camping out here for answers too.

Camping as well.

I’ve only scratched the surface but anything street of walls puts out is useful. Then just google to get a comprehensive list PE firms in the states, and explore their websites to get a sense what their focus is and where their team members come from. And in your case OP, I have a friend who’s starting at golden gate capital and their strategic partner is Bain. When I looked at their team members, a lot were former Bain consultants and that’s no accident

Wall Street oasis has a PE recruiting guide for 300 that talks about that. If you want to get into modeling I recommend breakingintowallstreet.com

When I said that I meant dayto day

Thanks for all the good info. Following

Wall Street oasis

Do the Bain PE rotation

Hey y’all, what are some good exit opportunities to look for in Canada? Some context: I’m a healthcare consultant without a clinical background, but I really don’t love the work I’m doing. Not interested in joining the public sector and unfortunately there aren’t too many startups or interesting tech companies in the healthcare/life sciences space in Canada. Any thoughts?

Considering moving to Shopify for a BD manager type of role in the US. Love the company, role is interesting and the team seems great (met them already). However, I have read comp can be low at Shop compared to other big tech in the US (even though there could be a lot of upside with the RSUs). Anyone know comp levels at Shopify? And overall career progression path (fast or slow)? Thanks!

Folks who’ve left ClearView, how is life on the other side, and how long did you stay before you jumped ship? It’s a week where I’m burning, and the fact that I feel so isolated during it makes me want to quit consulting altogether. Would also like to talk to some of you if possible.
