This question has been posted every day for the past two months. Top answers: banana republic, Anne Taylor and J Crew. Because none of you ladies respect yourselves.
Where would a petite person who respects themselves find respectable higher end clothing? I find that almost all higher end stuff doesn't come in petite. I know, I know. I could tailor it. But typically the pieces don't look quite as intended plus it's a PITA
Banana Republic is my go to.
Aritzia has very comfortable work appropriate clothes. Not a zipper in sight (stretchy trousers!) but hang beautifully and look professional.
To anyone recommending LOFT and Banana Republic, check out what they have as "work dresses" right now. It's a lot of dresses that look like what was in style for preteens in the early 2000s- a lot of smocked, tiered, ruffly maxi dresses with garish prints like paisley. Definitely not what I think most of us would consider business professional or even business casual. Loft has traditionally been my go-to but lately it's so hard to just find dresses that are business appropriate that aren't just sheaths but also aren't trying to be like Fun and Free™

I noticed the same thing. All the dresses in their “work” section aren’t appropriate for work!

JCrew still has great workwear options, but be cautious of quality. Some of the pieces I’ve bought recently haven’t felt as “nice” as they did previously.
So true!
Boden!!!!!
LOVE Boden. Go by the size charts. Once you figure out your perfect size in whatever cuts/fit styles you like it’s super easy to coordinate a wardrobe with different colors/patterns. Huge fan of all Boden work dresses.
MM LaFleur and BGL (sales) are my favorites for work dresses. Nine West for shoes, especially their 9x9 technology for a comfier fit.

Loft, jcrew factory, white house black market, macys (have to dig alittle), bannana factory, anne taylor outlet, poshmark (if I know my size and what I'm looking for)
Thank you everyone!

Also many people I know rave about rent the runwag subscription!
Ok I’ve been going through trial and error of buying fancy, expensive pants and returning them, and so far the only pants I haven’t returned are actually from Lee (not fancy, not expensive)
Specifically, I bought multiple pairs of these. Great stretch, flattering (FWIW I’m 26 and a size 12). Quality is about on par with the price (so I wouldn’t expect them to last forever). I’m just happy to at least have a few pairs of pants I’ll feel comfortable putting on in the morning 🤷🏻♀️

Honestly, check sites like Poshmark. I had a massive work wardrobe pre-COVID and then recently switched to an in-house gig where T-shirt and jeans is the norm. A lot of people like me are dumping brand new or like-new work attire on Poshmark/Mercari/ThredUp/etc.
