Assuming you’re just trying to do some pretty basic exploratory testing and no performance / scalability
Spin one up on Microsoft Azure. Cheap and easy. Enroll in some free courses on EdX and you’ll be all set
Download Oracle Express, its free and can handle up to 11gb of data
Honestly, I’ve found docker to be the simplest and most expedient way to play around with different database engines. You can be up and running in minutes with several different RDBMS flavors. MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, DB2, etc. https://hub.docker.com/search?category=database&source=verified&type=image
Ds1, not sure. I tried this in my deloitte laptop
GitHub allows SQL and python free. Azure charges for everything, usually Google does too. Microsoft SQL is also free and MySQL. You can run SQL through Access too. Find out what your company will approve. I've had some ridic companies that plan everything for just Excel then you gotta create a cloud account and hope the server isn't blocking it via admin. Ok, I will go NoSQL and play with Access a bit! ROFL. Even Excel and Access are best with MicrosoftSQL or MySQL though.
Dude, sqlite3.
Setup up your own on your laptop.
You can locally install MS Sql server express edition 2019.
Sql server DB performs better than any listed above on PC.
MA SQL Server Development is free
Yeah just a small data set I want to play with for complex queries as I prep for interviews. I’m set up on google sql cloud, is that a good option as well?
So long as you can run your DDL to build a basic model, load your data, and read your data.. you’re good (so any of the numerous options should suffice) best of luck prepping!
How can I even start from the bottom of sql? I don’t even understand any of the lingo ^
Try to get the syntax down via sqlbolt, Hackerrank, sqlzoo! Took me a few days but getting the hang of it
So many opinions. I’m just waiting for someone to swear on access 😂
