Why are people so judgemental about poly relationships?

I’m a recent grad & began my first career as a marketing coordinator. It’s been quite frustrating to say the least. The company doesn’t understand the purpose of marketing, & recently hopped into the digital world - many of which don’t find it valuable. On the other hand, my manager assigns me lots of copy projects to do & either doesn’t give me informational feedback or completely disregards my work. Do I go back to my old firm? 3rd year lit. Been at new firm since start of the year, $130k. Left old firm on good terms, only left because I moved 4 hours to new firm to be with boyfriend (we’re no longer together). I told friends at old firm I wasn’t happy in new city and new firm is much more demanding (1900+ vs. 1750) and several partners are becoming intolerable. Gossip at old firm led to managing partner calling me to offer $110k to return and do the exact work I want to do. Worth it?

Does anyone get fired for being behind on work? Meeting the target for hours but work is submitted late. I don’t mean after any litigation deadlines or limitation periods. Work just takes awhile to get done. Or is it just having low hours and the partners eventually stop giving you work?
