If you are starting to learn, I’d recommend learning Python first. Not a lot of people using R these days

Ton of people use R, actually, it’s just not as prevalent as python @ EY 2. Udemy, any guides by Hadley Wickham

Why not learn Julia then. I have high hopes and it is a better language. Python is a mess.

R is a great tool for advanced analytics. Probably better in a lot of cases compared to Python. However, Python does a lot more than just analytics which is why people might prefer it. For example, I can build a ML model as well as automate various tasks in Python. There are tons of resources in Udemy, Coursera, Edx, etc.

Udemy is good. Also consider learning python depending on your work environment

I read that all major ibanks are moving from R to Python
