I’ve found all of my previous jobs on Indeed, and I now I work for Indeed :)
You can choose to upload a CV but keep it hidden from employers. It still makes applying far easier and can still help match you to jobs. I think there is also a way to make your CV anonymous. Equally, having an up to date profile with current CV doesn’t always mean you are looking to leave your current job. It’s actually good career practice to stay on top of opportunities, and if your employer values you they would want to ensure you are happy. I tell my manager whenever I’m approached about an external role, she knows I’m open to a move and we have trust that as long as I’m performing well, she’ll have my progression in mind. Hope this helps :)
I’ve also sent my CV to headhunters that specialize in my area and have had calls with them. Otherwise I have some companies in mind, created a list and routinely check their websites.
Headhunters/recruiters are a good way to go, although the quality does differ a lot. If you are using this route, I would recommend reaching out to some people you trust to see of they can recommend anyone
LinkedIn has worked for me up until recently. People have recommended Dice and Indeed but for some reason, it just doesn't work for me. Dice is a bit better but Indeed gives me 0 luck.

Has this worked for you?

Thanks all for the great responses. My one concern with headhunters is they are not so good for career switchers. What’s your experience?
