Originally NY small law then BxDA. 20 yrs ago moved to SoFL then transitioned from ins def and coverage to IP. Built a practice. Went to big law and hated it. Went on my own in 2013. Now all IP lit. Run small IP lit firm with lawyers and offices in NY, L.A., Atlanta and Nashville. Admitted in NY, FL and GA, plus lots of DC and CtApp bars. Went to SCOTUS last year. Having fun.

Now's the time to do your own thing. World has changed. Change with it. Change is good. Let go of the fear. FDR said it better, but same point.

It really depends on where you are coming from and where you are going. A good way to transition is to find a middle ground and become an expert in that middle field.

For example, I used my tech background to develop insurance defense business and handle cases for claims raising IP and privacy issues. That gave me experience defending the types of claims I file now.

Look around your area of practice for similar middle ground that might help you move towards your desired field.

AdTech Sales - Account Executive. No experience in Sales, but was in client services with my company for 10 years.

Base 142 with 100% match, so 284 OTE. Accelerators after 100, which doubles up to 125. (101 to goal will garner 102 in commission, 105 will 110, caps out at 125 so max is 150% commission)

Q1 is looking good already so feel good about things. But curious if this is a good deal.
