Anyone here a US citizen who chose to leave in favor of London? I’m American but husband is European. He wants to return for the social culture of Europe but I just get traumatized by the pay in London and almost equally high cost of living as in tier 1 USA cities. I know money isn’t everything but hoping to hear about other Americans experiences . Thank you!

Interested to know since this is rarely done, but what is your salary/state/position (__ year associate, etc.)/practice area? I see salaries posted far too often without any context. Surely everyone on here isn’t biglaw in NYC, Miami, LA, etc. Where are all the normal folks at?

I realized that I hate being married. My spouse is really nice, attractive, fit, supportive, and a good parent, but just hate the concept of marriage. I hate having to decide things together, being considerate, comprising, and making an effort for another person. I want to be selfish and not care. I would get divorced if not for the kids, but since we have a good relationship, not sure if it's worth the trouble. Anyone else feel like that? Is this normal?

Any recommendations for liability insurance? Need for my LLC

Partner told me when I started I could not concealed carry in the office. I work in a major metropolitan area and I have a CCL. This time of year I don’t mind as much but winter I am not looking forward to going to the car with nothing handy. Also, heard stories in law school and undergrad of disgruntled clients and opponents attacking lawyers. I am thinking concealing as good as I can and what the partner doesn’t know won’t hurt him.

I took a mental health day. I just don’t feel ok. How can I feel better?

I've always been p front about my mental health. I believe it's nothing to be ashamed of and if I feel like I'm getting overwhelmed/going through mental slump I want my coworkers to know I'm not dropping the ball for no reason. My day to day manager recently expressed that I don't need to explain myself bc it's my personal business. While I appreciated it, I kind of felt like he was more uncomfortable than I was. How do yall balance being transparent about mental health vs keeping it personal?

Is it possible to have an off day with billable hours? Corner office is always concerned about our mental health “in these trying times” yet the not-so-subtle “I noticed your hours went down this week” convos undermine that. Even if my hours are down from 2 weeks ago but still over 40 billable.
