248 countries? Sounds like that probably includes Palestine. Better visit while it still exists

like

It includes territories - I count those as countries. It doesn’t count Scotland or Wales, though.

Italy/Croatia are a good fit for a single trip.

Once the Middle East calms a bit, Egypt is quite the trip. Icing on the cake is the the new museum in Cairo.

I’m not a beach or tropics guy, so that is all I got.

like

Albania or Serbia in the Balkans, UAE or Jordan in the Middle East, India or Kazakhstan in Asia!

There’s a little known island off Nicaragua called San Andres, amazing water, locals are cool, reggae bars on the beach, wasn’t busy when I visited. Chill, drink, eat lobster, yellow fin tuna for like $10 a plate, Technically it’s part of Colombia but nowhere near the country. Pretty decent English on the island maybe 60%. My beach front room was $130 a night. I’m currently up in the Colombian mountains in San Gil. Going parasailing through the Andes. Most people do Colombia completely wrong. They hit Bogota, Medellin, Cartagena, it’s like visiting time square and saying I’ve been to the U.S. The beauty is in the country, villages, road trips, hanging with the locals. I’d recommend where ever you can integrate with the locals quickly. That’s where the best trips are.

That sound like exactly what I need, thanks!

I mean, you got a big Italian hole in your map

Italy is not currently on my short list - it just doesn’t seem to come into the picture. Maybe I’ll visit after I retire and after I cover Middle East, Asia, and North Africa. Visiting Russia or Brazil would be satisfying by coloring the map blue, Who knows? Looks pretty

like

I loved Portugal & Italy. I spent like 3 weeks just in Italy going from the southern coast to the north. Brazil would be beautiful too especially if you like the coast life

Just curious, when you say “visited country” do you mean: travelling extensively within its borders or visiting Toronto, Sydney, Shanghai and Paris counts as the whole country on your map?

Whistler B.C. Is pretty amazing and largely overlooked. It looks like somewhere Santa Claus would live in winter.

The answer depends on your goals. Are you trying to up your numbers, do you want to relax, do you want something more outdoor / active? Provide more color for a better answer.

Probably active but as I get older relaxing is more appealing
