Still waiting for McK or Bain guys to come in and post something like - trip to Patagonia or Antarctica. Because they would have seen the world by now. Travel snobs. 😛

likefunny

A buddy of mine who decidedly loves to travel has seen most of the world in the last five years as a single M utilizing Deloitte alt travel and points to the max. Every week he has alt traveled for months on end.

I was working at a Hotel one night & I saw a man appearing on two different floors, then in the stairwell. The man was in his 70’s or 80’s. He was wearing nothing but tidy whiteys. When he got to the front desk I asked “is everything alright? Are you okay?” (Assuming he may be senile),He wasn’t senile, he went swimming & wanted to make me uncomfortable and started to flirt while in his sopping wet see through tidy whiteys- and of course I had to clean up the water he tracked through the lobby.

Could anyone provide me with a quick analysis on emissions for cars? My country is considering to lower the speed limit in the night to 100 km/h (currently 130 km/h on some highways). I wonder whether this actually has a positive influence on emissions? Because the decreased speed also results in longer travel times. And aren’t the emissions very car specific as well? I can imagine old cars would be more polluting but I doubt if there would be a difference for modern cars? And what about fuel?

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled
