My copy manager recently gave 2 wks notice and since then I've taken on that role in addition to mine for about a month (telling our EVP I would like to move into the position). My most recent chat w said EVP has made it clear I'm not considered a viable candidate. My question: once I state I will cover the additional tasks for an another week and no more, can the corporate overlords press me to continue in both roles or am I within my rights to refuse?
