Hello Everyone! Does anyone have a connection at Netflix ! I am an author/marketing associate and truly my dream job is to work on the team that creates/produces Drive to Survive. I am a huge F1 fan! However, I am willing to start where I can and work my way there! I was laid off due to Covid and just trying to get back into the field and industry I love.

Hi All! I am all set to join Infosys from 10th October as a Senior Consultant and they have given us an option of in person or virtual onboarding. With Wipro and TCS incorporating a hybrid model, is there any news that Infosys may also do the same?
My HR had given an option of permanent wfh during recruitment, can anyone currently working at Infosys shed some light on this please!! Infosys

I would not do Hells Kitchen; seems like rise in crime is clustered there and it’s much less lively during covid. I second UES (but make sure you’re close to the train) or east village. If you’re going to be traveling I think it’s convenient to be on the east side and easier to hop on FDR to the airport.
If you’re into the bar scene and college 2.0, East village, kips bay, Murray hill. If you like exercise and more low key sports bars/local vibe, upper East (low 80s)
West Harlem is super affordable, can find a 1 bed for under 2k a month, good bars/restaurants, easy access to subway
Above commenter is correct about the villages, particularly East or Greenwich (West is a little older leaning). I would avoid Hell’s Kitchen unless you are chasing cheap rent (dense without the appeal of the Villages, houses many theater folks). Murray Hill/Kips Bay are also affordable, attract recent grads, and are convenient for a midtown commute.
Pro
Hell’s Kitchen or the East/West Villages if in Manhattan
Wfh could be the norm for some or all of the week. Make sure you find a place where you can have a decent desk set up, aka not a closet room and 5 roommates
LES
East Village for sure.
Murray Hill/Kips Bay is full of bros and only bros who hang out within their network of college frat bros. East village has some of that, but there’s a little bit of something for everyone and so many bars, restaurants, etc. also walkable to LES and other fun neighborhoods.
If travelling do not live in manhattan, please rethink.

Prob bc you’re paying Manhattan rent to be gone Monday - Thursday / Friday.
People rationalize by saying when they are at home they want to be in NYC but it’s a fair point. Break down your ~1800 rent into the 8-12 days you’ll actually be in the apartment a month and it’s pretty steep.
I’m a pretty recent graduate (girl) and I really enjoy living in Murray Hill! It is more of a college frat bro vibe but I’ve made a lot of friends from living here and have really enjoyed it so far
