Lodged unfair dismissal claim against previous employer & offered short term contract with a business that sometimes provides services to them. Do I advise new employer, or withdraw my claim? I don't want to withdraw the claim, but am concerned ex-employer may not use new employers services after once I work there or new employer wont renew my contract once completed. I'm considering a Research Lead offer from a Series A start-up in NYC and admittedly don't really know how to evaluate it. First user research hire and the pay is US $178K plus stock options of 7100 shares. I think the pay is a bit low for the current market, but not sure how to assess the shares. I noticed they have no 401K or IRA, and they don't say anything about parental leave policies. Is this typical for a Series A start-up to not offer retirement plans? And is this fair comp? Thanks!
