Which alternative energy source do you think has the most potential to become the standard in the future?

What do you think?

I'm gonna make a wild guess and say solar lol

I'm pretty confident solar power will become pretty commonplace starting soon, but I'm also sure we'll figure out fusion within our lifetimes so that could change everything

Depends on the standard for who? Homes and factories have different demands. Some areas are better fit for wind, solar, or hydro solutions. It'll be a mixed standard depending on where you live if I had to guess

There are many potential alternative energy sources that could become the standard in the future. One of the most promising sources is solar energy. Solar energy is renewable, and it doesn't produce any harmful emissions. Additionally, solar energy is becoming increasingly affordable, which could make it more popular in the future.

I’ve never seen so much momentum for advanced nuclear before. Micro nuclear reactors and fusion are becoming a real possibility for displacing fossil energy on the grid

My money would be on thorium fuelled nuclear reactors. The only commercial downside / societal upside is that you can't make nuclear weapons.

Solar, hydroelectric, and wind all have other terrible environmental impacts that make widespread adoption unfeasible.

I remember when I first started working on my thesis project. My adviser asked me to get some funding for it, but he didn't give me any advice about how to do that. He just told me that if I wanted money for my project, I'd have to go through some kind of committee process and submit an application for funding from them. Sure enough, after weeks of writing applications and waiting around for responses from the committee members (who were always too busy), I eventually got approved for funding!
