I don't think they paid for it. It was based on a book and doesn't portray Day Crock in the way I'm sure an official propaganda piece would normally portray someone like him. I personally enjoy the movie though, watched it a few times.

It’s a good movie? What are you upset about!?

Apparently you’ve not seen “Mac and Me”

Wait what? I haven’t seen it yet but the trailer makes Ray Croc look like a real piece of shit. I can’t tell if you’re kidding but surely that movie had nothing to do with McDonalds corporate folks?
It’s good.
I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. For me McDonalds has always just been there, the story of its origin and how it was twisted from its original aspirations was genuinely interesting, while I’m sure some parts are enhanced for the sake of it being a movie - I’d recommend it

McDonalds clearly didn’t pay for the movie. Which was great by the way.

I really liked it
Related, but not exactly: read Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. The book, not the movie (the movie sucked and had little relationship to the book). It wasn’t an explicit takedown of McDonald’s per se, but it detailed the commoditization of the food service industry and how they drove down pay by creating unskilled jobs. And the science they collectively use to engineer food flavors was utterly fascinating.
If you want to see a movie paid for by McDonalds watch Bye Bye Love.
