You always drink that much Kool aid for breakfast AS1?

Zero Napoleon it's just funny when people start arguing opinionated questions that are completely based on perspective and personal experience. You won't get the same answer from every office/region. And every Big 4 will just try to lay their d on the table.

like

Since it takes a level of cut throatness to be the best, I'll have to say Deloitte.

like

@D1 absolutely. Makes sense to focus on consulting, more money, less risk. Deloitte is ahead of the curve

like

@AS1 depends what LoS you're talking about. Deloitte is a consulting firm. They have legacy audit clients but aren't growing that practice for shit. Consulting makes up >50% of firm revenues. PwC or EY are the best audit firms.

like

RSM 1 I sense a bit of Napoleon complex in your tone. It's expected, carry on.

like

"It's funny when people start arguing opinionated questions..." An opinionated question was posed and I chose to answer the question with my opinion but you chose to attack me for giving my opinion, while you could've easily answered the question with your opinion. I answered the post but you're the one who wants to start an argument, it's ok to disagree with me but state your opinion. I don't even work for Deloitte, which makes your comment even more asinine.

like

@assurance staff 1 what makes Deloitte so "Cut throat" ? I never get what people mean...maybe I just have an awesome team. Focus on yourself not your peers and you'll be surprised how well you do! :)

like

Deloitte based off the recent layoffs and new RPM system, people are doing more to stay in this year.

like

We aren't focusing our effort on audit because advisory is where the most money is. Our advisory practice is great and had ~13% growth.

KPMG or Deloitte

Is DT really still the most prestigious? Not tooting my own horn here, really just curious. Seems like in recent years PwC is at the top.

like

It probably depends on teams. I've been w PwC for 6 years. It's been more cut throat at some times than others w the team changing. Overall, wouldn't describe PwC as cut throat but maybe I have a good team.

@EY2, you're making this more than it needs to be. It's a simple question, just give an answer and move on. Idk what you're talking about with all this focusing on your peer stuff. I'm glad you work with an awesome team.

Any of the firms in larger cities tend to be more cutthroat due to competition. Specially stay away from New York from what I've been told

DT, but DT is the most prestigious of the big4.

Depends on LoS. Deloitte is consulting. PwC is best in audit. KPMG has good TS.

PwC is just big. I don't have a stats but it seems acceptance at DT is a lot lower

Can I apply to Big 3 Cloud (and other top SaaS) for Junior AE after a full year as a top performing BDR? Coming from 7yoe of industry + Big 4 consulting with MBA before pivoting into tech sales to be a hunter closer. Aiming for industry-aligned AE openings to leverage my related background, but most descriptions still “require” 2-5 years of quota or full cycle experience even for SMB. Would my 12mo as BDR be good enough since I have 8 total years of professional experience?

Agree or disagree — for a B4 tax practice, service line partners are actually more Atkin to middle management and managers are not really “management” in the traditional sense. Ie, we have don’t really have much to say on the strategic direction of our practice.

Those who switched from audit to fp&a - could you provide any tips on how to tailor the resume to get interviews? I’m a senior at B4 with CPA and have applied 90+ companies but no interviews yet. In my resume I highlighted my experience in reviewing budget to actual variances, forecast models, valuation reports, using excel, etc., which I think is relevant to fp&a. How should I further polish my resume to increase my chances of getting interviews? TIA!

International vs. PCS internal and Exit Opportunities. — I’m a S2 in ATL working in PCS and in international/crossborder for private clients. I need some guidance determining whether I would be better off staying in PCS or declaring a specialty in int’l/crossborder work. I don’t see myself in B4 forever, and it seems the int’l work would limit exit opps in the future. However, PCS exit opps aren’t appealing to me either: family office or wealth management. — any help or insight is appreciated.

Hi Sharks,

I already have offer from EPAM systems, IBM, and CTS.

CTS is offering me 14 LPA fixed and EPAM is ready to pay 16 LPA fixed. Now In my salary discussion call with pwc india they are matching my offer from CTS i. e 14 lpa. They are saying they are from big 4 and have brand image. I ask for at least 15.5 lpa and told her if they can not afford that they can drop my candidature.

What's your views on this? Am I right here and which company will you go in this case?

I see a lot of differentiating in post about RIsk Assurance and Risk Advisory. Would someone mind breaking that down by which groups fall into these roles? I am Tech Assurance but also on a rotation where I get exposure to other groups in risk, ie - Internal Audit, GRC and Tech Risk Management. I do like the risk realm, although I would hope to do something more technical in nature and not so much check box. Thanks ahead of time!
