Deloitte’s perks were great but the raises were just crap.

I have seen that non Big 4 firms pay wayyy better at the manager level and above across the board.

International tax — California or other high COL area

Not deloitte 😂😂😂

Pay sucks here, pwc is the premium payer. Kpmg is budget provider of services due to our reputation. People think twice about coming to us so we have to underbid for work, and hence can afford less when it comes to paying our people.

They’re all the same at the end of the day

PwC pays a few grand more than EY’s starting salary from what I’ve heard ...

like

It so heavily depends. For a lot of my friends looking to transfer at the manager/director level KPMG was throwing cash at them.

like

KPMG tends to be overpaid from what I've seen

like

KPMG tends to pay a bit more, at least by 2k to 5k.

like

whichever one you last the longest

like

When I was coming in as a first year, I got offers from KPMG, PWC, and Deloitte (I didn’t like my EY office so I didn’t apply). They were all within 1k of each other.

like

I don’t know from the start or how they pay over the years but when I was SM2 at EY I was paid $150k, PWC was offering for the same position/market group $200k to jump ship.

like

But the firms also have to offer you incentive to come over. They aren't going to offer you the same salary or else you likely won't move. I'm sure once you came over you might have been making more than the SMs who were already there

like

None - it’s B4

funny

Neither 😂

You mean jumping or starting from associate level?

We all basically peg to the market. It’s all the same

I’ve heard PwC and EY pay the most. KPMG pays less than middle market!

They are all about the same but when I started PWC was the lowest.

And yet, KPMG is the one investing in learning and development by spending millions of dollars on the Lakehouse construction.

I meant that despite lower revenue compared to the other 3 firms, KPMG is still spending millions of dollars to build the training facility. I never said the other 3 firms are not investing in L&D. Deloitte already has its DU campus, while PwC and EY just lease the venues to host trainings. Personally, I’d prefer to have a centralized facility like DU and coming soon Lakehouse as I think it is more beneficial for employees.

EY was higher than PWC when I interned

From my experience, I would say PwC when you consider total compensation and benefits. PwC has more benefits than EY.

If you are not a partner, do any of the Big 4 have a mandatory retirement age? I have a friend who is working in industry and has been approached by a few firms as he has a very desirable technical skill set. He is in his 50's and doesn't want to make a move unless there is some runway to keep working. He basically could work as long as he wants where he is at. The pay increase would be significant for him to jump to but if he is mandatorily forced out in a few years it might not be worth it.

Are firms willing to negotiate the role with campus hires? I received an offer for a big 4 in risk, which I signed early in September, but just now received another offer in TAS from a different firm. While I much prefer the big 4 firm, I do not want to work in risk anymore. Would a big 4 be willing to change groups? Have you heard of anyone able to do this? I feel kind of bad, but I truly despise the idea of working in risk now. ( My friend who's in the role right now hates it)

I’ve been talking to a guy for a few months. He works at a big 4 and will have bouts of silence (like multiple days) in response to anything from pleasantries to nudes. When he’s engaged he’s totally into me and talks about how much he likes me and wants to move things forward and then nada. I love talking to him when he’s present but don’t get the hot/cold. Sometimes he blames work and others he doesn’t address it all. Is he just busy and I don’t get it or is this all red flags shady?

I have 9 yoe and have a corp finance consulting role at a well known rx firm. I have been with the firm for a little over a year and am already bored. The work doesnt seem to be very challenging or interesting. Prior to this role i did corp dev and business dev in industry, i also did two years of pe straight out of college but it was outside the US.
