Which Big 4 has the best benefits?

EY: Cheap where it counts, the bare minimum needed to make sure you have a pulse (through busy season only!). God forbid they help match anything we put into an HSA. “Real” health insurance plans cost a fortune for a spouse/family. 🤒 👩‍👩‍👧‍👦 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 👨‍👨‍👧‍👦 🏥 Frivolous where it sells on the campus recruiting trail. “Here’s $500 a year you can spend on a gym membership or Apple Watch!” ⌚️🤩 Props to PwC for being a standout among B4 and actually helping with employees’ student loan payments. Anyone else notice that the CARES Act put student loans on par with employer tuition assistance until 12/31—$5,250 tax fee to employee/payroll tax to employer...(total BS that this benefit existed for years for active students, but vanished the second you graduated and actually had a full-time employer!) —yet every PA firm that I can think of sans PwC, literal vampires that can only survive on the blood of the youth, be like 🙈👨‍🦯 whaaaaa..? Must have missed it 🤷‍♂️

I think they are all pretty similar. I’ve been at both pwc and ey. I think pwc was slightly better with phone but ey has more pto. They have the same health insurance which is absolutely horrible. I’m on my husbands (Cigna) and it is sooooo good. I don’t understand why these huge companies can’t just offer something reasonable for health insurance.

PwC had better benefits than KPMG in my experience.

I was at PwC prior to joining EY and can say PwC has better benefits hands down. They offer student loan payments, give you a free phone every other year, cover EHE, and are just overall more generous to their employees (Maybe not so much during COVID). However, I find EY to be extremely frugal.

Isn’t Deloitte still offering the option of copay health insurance plans? That’s a big win in my book, PwC only gives deductible options. Coming from being on a state employee copay health plan, I’ve been shocked at the shittiness of PwC’s health insurance plans. Not including the EHE program in this statement, that thing is amazing.

like

PwC health insurance is trash. High deductible plan is the best option, and it’s a $3.5k annual deductible.

Partnership model doesn't really have any benefits for staff, except for the obvious such as great CV and training.

Is getting laid off a benefit? If so, all of them!

All firms have similar bottom line but there were instances, where PwC clearly had better benefits , subsidies.

Just don’t come to big four haha

I have worked at both KPMG and EY. PwC has by far better benefits than both. I think Deloitte is close to PwC though.

Kpmg got rid of senior bonuses that you can defer till manager

As a senior back at KPMG, I vested in $12,000 of retention bonus and I think another 4K right before I left. Honestly, that bonus did the job: it made me not actively seek to leave earlier ,which (in hindsight) I should have done anyway just because the work and growth potential is higher elsewhere.

FTM - I’m just curious on how some of your maternity leave is set up. I received short term disability pay for 6 weeks and then paid from my job for 6 - they offered additional bonding time, but unpaid. The paid portion came from my “sick time.” I wasn’t sick, I was caring for and bonding with my son. That’s been bothering me since I returned. Now I don’t have any sick leave and any last minute time that I need to take is unpaid. Other countries give moms the entire year, 100% paid 🥴
