For GRE, do schools care about your writing scores? I heard they don’t, just wanted to confirm if true and whether that differs between MBA vs non MBA
Looking to switch from Audit into another career path. However, just not sure what that would be. My long-term goal is to become a forensic accountant (minimum 10-15 years from now). Studying for the CPA exam, and once that is done I'd like to sit for the CFE exam. Current interests are in the private/corporate accounting industry (cost accounting, possibly tax, etc). Thoughts? Suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Applying to MBA programs next fall with the goal of pivoting from tech finance to consulting. I’m very passionate about fitness and health and think I would love a role at a Peleton/Tonal type company as a post-consulting option or even in place of consulting. Is there a niche for ex-consultants /MBA grads in this industry. Have any current students seen OCR in this space?
Big 4 🐠 here. Love consulting work but tired of the lifestyle. Anyone heard about F212, Slalom and Bridgespan?
I’m on a small team where I happen to be the SME and the the only other person who knows how to do it is the VP. I have an offer to leave for 60% more to a big 4 + get title bump (associate to senior consultant) but I feel bad. I think this will burn bridges. I love manager, team and WLB. They were so excited to hire me and now I might leave them. Help
Anyone in big 4 or consulting in Nashville want to refer me? Looking to do transactional or FDD work. Currently A2
How does one get into advisory without already being in big 4 or having a narrow industry focus? All of the postings I see are for very specific IT related positions.
Partner in big 4, mid 40s. Doing okay but lack motivation as I don’t respect what we do or most of my clients. Team is decent and I feel responsible for them but not excited about consulting. Never been in the industry. Very tempted to do a start up. Have a few ideas. I would love some advice. Either how to suck it up and stay the course or being brave to try something new.
What’s the incentive to stay in Big 4 Advisory post MBA when MBB offers accelerated promotions, larger comp increases YoY, etc? I understand having gratitude is good but just genuinely wondering
Just finished my first year in Big 4 Tech Consulting. Got highest possible marks and am starting to get frustrated by lackluster learning opportunities (still have not met a soul that I work with in person) and the allure of consulting is completely dead for me at this point. I know the job market at Tech companies is hot right now… but I feel I may be a bit too early to jump ship. Should I wait until the first big promotion / increase for leverage, or is Big Tech actually hiring 1 YoE Analysts?
Do socially awkward interns still get offers? I am interning at a big 4 and am awkward af but get the work done well. I heard two of last year's interns didn't get offers so I am getting worried.
PMP worth it?
What happens if you quit and your firm paid for your cpa prep? Do I have to pay my firm back or do I not have an access to cpa prep course? I’m going to ask my firm before I quit but want to make sure I’m not expecting to spend 3k before I quit
How much weight does brand name consulting firms have on top MBA programs? For example, is it significantly better to work for MBB firms vs. big 4 vs. well known specialized boutique firms?
Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.
Hey can you rank these in order of importance in getting into HBS MBA: GMAT, undergrad GPA, Masters GPA, years of work experience, Brand name companies on resume, SOP, Interview. Anything else I missed please add
Hey Londoners - Visiting from the US in November after a stopover in Paris. If I'm understanding correctly, I have to take a day 2 COVID test. Is it pretty easy to find a testing center? Have any of you been taking the Eurostar and dealing with this? Thanks!
So, I had to be away for two days. On my way back into town, I stopped at my classroom, just to make sure it was still standing. The sub had rearranged my stuff and taken candy (that I had intended to give to the office workers) and said she gave it to one of my classes. I am livid. Am I over reacting?
How is JFK pre-check line Monday mornings?
I make low 60k (plaintiffs PI), and I’m a third year attorney, if I ask for a 10% raise this year am I crazy? (I grew a ton in last year, took on new tasks and was given more responsibility in cases). Tips? Advice?
Delta and SPG out while in transit? Pretty sure this qualifies as at least the 6th or 7th level of consultant hell
Supposed to fly to San Francisco this coming weekend and can’t decide if I should postpone due to the air quality. Folks’ thoughts? I’ll be there 3 weeks
What would you do with 60k AA, 50k CSR, 50k AmEx, 150k SPG? Combine somehow to flight miles? Cash out? Want to go to New Zealand or Patagonia eventually, also have wedding trips coming up...
What are some exit oops for business analysts working in implementation/digital transformation? Aside from industry business analyst
Anyone here from EY Tysons Corner (Assurance Service Line) want to tell me about the firm culture, is it a great learning environment, client base? I got an offer for Senior 1 but want to be sure I’m making the right decision to go Big 4 or jump down to mid-tier. SN: I started at a smaller National firm but left years ago for industry so I’ll be coming in somewhat starting from square 1 but at a senior 1 level.
We just started using the Classroom Assessment Scoring System in our programs to measure quality of interactions and lesson plans. I think it's been one of the most meaningful tools for providing feedback to teachers.

Are hard skills (coding, aws architect cert, etc) critical to long term success in consulting? My background is mostly functional MC and strat roles.
