Can McKC tenured folks call out some perks & benefits of our organisation, which a covid hire wouldn’t necessarily be aware of? For eg: I didn’t know till last week that we have something called as team event budget (750/- per head per month) which can also be utilised to expense online learning/cert if you don’t utilise for team events.
Which firm benefits/insurance should I enroll and skip? Will elect HSA and firm-paid disability insurance. How about employee critical illness insurance or long term care plan?
F1 OPT holder here. This is my current financial state. Completed my loans, have a 6 month emergency fund in Discover savings account, started contributing to 401k from this month (Ey matches only after a year and I didnt have enough knowledge before) 1. I am thinking of maxing out 401k with rest of the months. Is that a good idea? I wouldn't necessarily do dollar cost averaging if I do that. 2.I would love to get some perspectives on where else can I invest - thinking btw IRA or brokerage acc
Outside of the Big 4 - what are some other good consulting firms in the DC/MD/VA area that have Healthcare arms? Have had interviews at 3 of the Big 4 now trying to cast my net wider.
Do all equity Partners at MBB get health insurance for life? BCG arguably has the best plan and it’s quite a perk to stay on the hamster wheel
I’m eligible for 401k %match from my employer on aug 1 2021. The max total amount I could get from them for 2021 is ~$420. I plan on maxing out & my 401k has an aggressive strategy. Would you wait to contribute until later in the year in order to maximize the match, or invest early in the year for the compound interest gains? Am I wrong to think the latter?
FYI - you should still get 401k match from your old company if you leave in first few months of new year. Heard differently on this app, but left B4 in Jan and still got employer match in Feb for 2019
Any advice on how to determine the best % of pay to allocate towards ESPP? I don’t want to reduce 401K because I want to continue reduce AGI
Starting a new job and rethinking my retirement contributions. So far have put between 7-10% of my salary into a 401k over the last two years, debating if a Roth IRA is something I should consider. New firm matches 3% to 401k, will be making 123k. Thoughts?
After I resign can I use some of my 401k to buy real estate/land outside the US and transfer the remaining with the 401k of the new firm?
I need liquidity for an upcoming down payment for a house. I’m looking to rollover 401k from a previous employer to a self directed IRA as one of the options. Anyone has insight into pros and cons of such a rollover and if there are other options I can use to generate liquidity out of my previous employers 401k?
Am I doing it wrong or right? i just started making $120K base (jumping from 80K). I thought that’s going to be significantly more of take home pay, but turns out I’m only going to bring home $4.5K/month. which is same as before 🥺. This is because I’m gonna start maxing out my 401K, HSA, Roth, and buying company stocks (which I didn’t do before). Damn those things add up quickly! 😭 120K - 9K FICA tax - 20K Federal tax - 19.5K max 401k - 6K Roth - 2.6K HSA - 8K company stock = 54K/year. 🤪
How many years do you need in consulting to reap the actual benefits of it (not just the resume benefits but the experience benefits)?
If I put in 2 weeks today so that my last day is early Nov. However, what if I’m told to leave immediately, then does that mean I would lose my benefits at the end of this month? How do i avoid this?
Any quick ways to get PDU for PMP certificate? I have time to renew but want to get it out the way with the December downtime

As per h1b visa policy, I understand that we need to file an amendment everytime I need to perform work from clients location. But do we need to file an amendment if we are performing work from different state, city for few days when you are visiting friends? Have you got engagement managers approval in this cases? Also, do you then submit your timesheet from different location if you do or do not get the approval?
Thinking of moving from NYC to LA. New role would be much less travel and around 25+% increase salary, with significantly better benefits. Looking at Santa Monica. Anyone make a similar move?

I have enough credits to graduate but I haven’t found any internship. A lot of my friends told me to stay in school until I found an internship and work toward it. Should I just graduate and find a job or stay in school and keep looking for an internship?. Please drop some like so I can DM. Really appreciate it!.
Thoughts on joining a boutique consulting firm during this economy? Is it typically viewed as safer or riskier than bigger firms? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I know many of the bigger firms had layoffs but I imagine they have much more in the pipeline/budget/resources whereas boutique firms may or may not have had layoffs (is there a reputable source about this online?) but have fewer of the other items.
