I am being recruited by McKinsey. I am just starting the process so who knows what will happen. In the summer I had an offer from EY, which was good, but I actually felt like my role at ACN was just too good to leave. However Mck seems to focus on really interesting problems to solve. My questions to other partners out there - if you left another firm to go to Mck, why? If you considered an offer but decided to stay where you are, why? Don’t want to waste people’s time if I’m better off at ACN
Acura MDX, nothing flashy
2017 540i….no need for anything newer/better and its paid off!
Same here. But with a 530i
Don’t own one.
Same here, using different car sharing platforms and otherwise public transport, living downtown
Wife BNW X5, me X3 and a Ferrari Portofino
Kind of nice to see that there are fewer materialistic shallow-sounding partners in this bowl than usual! (Though there still quite a few)

Not like you can take it with you when you die
Not a fan of the flashy ones. Still using my 2015 Corolla until it breaks. The problem is that it's so reliable that I might have to wait for a few more years lol
OP making the case for a “downvote” button
It doesn’t matter what others drive, enjoy what you drive! Let’s not live for others!!
MD3 - thanks for your input. Much appreciated. Can you answer the question now?
‘16 M5 manual. One of a 100 made globally that year. Also, sitting in the garage and looking for a home: ‘13 Audi S4 manual w/ 41k miles. Special ordered that new and haven’t driven more than 100 miles in the last 3 year.
This was the last year they made the M5 w/ manual. The F90 (‘19 onward) got all wheel drive, which I wish this had given it spins tires in 3rd gear, but it’s impossible to get a manual beside M 2/3/4.
Mazda CX5 GTR. Used to have a Cadillac and bmw. Covid made me realize why I was just throwing $$ away

I am using a 2018 white FJ Cruiser. and a Ford Truck. Just in case I have other Partners coming with me for an outdoor adventure. Because I can't stand sitting in their BMWs.

My wife drives a 2003 4Runner she has owned since new, and won’t let me buy her a new car. I’ve tried a few times.
I bought a Range Rover Sport to drive while my BMW is being rebuilt, it spun a rod bearing, but I’ve driven a 2013 535i M-Sport with the manual transmission for the last 7 years. Not excessively flashy but not an economy car either. No one wanted to rebuild it to stock, so I shipped it off to an engine shop and it’s getting built to 600hp.
I used to own a Porsche 986, sold it to a friend when I was at a lower income level and couldn’t really justify having an extra car, I’ll buy it back some day.
RRS, 5 series, 986 are all the cars I want.

I like those wheels, to be honest. Always have. IDK why but the 351s speak to me. I’ve thought about e39 M-parallels with spacers, there’s a pic somewhere of those wheels on this car, but never got around to it.
I would considering having it changed to blue, but good paint is hard to do right and and the grey is a good color too. I’ve also thought about getting it wrapped, but… that’s far down the list I guess.
If I want to spend money on cosmetic mods I think the first thing I’d do is get the dash wrapped in leather. Maybe have some custom interior trim made in real open pore wood.

Holds its value better than any other vehicle I’ve owned
Agree P6. I regret selling mine in 2020. I miss it.
That is a funny post OP
Yes. It is hilarious…
Kia Telluride. Big fan of it. Not a car person at all so this was the right balance of family fit, price, and some level of luxury feel.
I have one of those also and a 718 boxster 6MT for the weekends.

2013 G Wagon, should last me another 10 just fine. Been waiting on a 911 for 18 months.
Cars are depreciating assets
Is it your fun/hobby (in which case you chose an expensive one - but go for it)?
Drove an early Prius for over a decade, but now in NYC and am very happy with not having a car
Coach
That’s where I am. It’s not my hobby and I am not interested in pouring money into a depreciating asset (for the most part…I know there are exceptions). I was set to get a Porsche Cayenne and then I realized that there are so many other ways I’d like to spend the money, such as contributing towards an investment property.
