NY/SF are probably harder to get into but depends on how you define “better”

Thinking mostly of types of projects / exit opportunities if there’s any significant difference between offices

Absolutely, especially at Bain which staffs by office and BCG which staffs regionally. That means you'll often be overindexing on the types of clients within the region of the office

Can I jump firms without interviewing in this market? S3 with 3 years FDD experience... not really interested in more than 1 conversation to get to to know the team. To me it's not worth the stress to go through a full interview process but if I received a competitive offer quickly, then I would seriously consider switching.

Hi y’all. So I haven’t technically onboarded for my firm yet, I’m suppose to start in 3 weeks. One of the projects I’m going to be put on requested to have a little interview with people of the team so I had mine today. The “interviewer” didn’t really seem to think I was qualified for this project at the end of the conversation (agree to disagree with him on that). Regardless, am I in trouble for not fitting his criteria/selling myself enough…kinda worried on my manager’s response….

This is a long shot but wondering if anyone has experienced this. I just changed to H1B status last Oct and my bank mailed me recently after tax filing deadline (I have filed tax in time using H&R block) asking me to fill out W9 if I am a resident alien / another form if I am not. This has never happened in previous years. Does it mean I missed a form using H&R block or is it related to the status change…?
