Ok it’s been a while. What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve seen over zoom while WFH.
Is it normal to get basically zero feedback? Brand new associate working at a mid sized firm. Been there a few months now and firm is still WFH. I get a fairly consistent amount of work. But I send my work product off into the ether and typically hear nothing or very little back (even when I follow up). I’ve gotten same vague “good work” feedback but that’s about it. I’ve drafted memos to clients and some briefs that have been sent/submitted nearly verbatim, so I assume that’s a good sign.
Ladies, how do you keep yourself physically together during WFH? I feel like I’ve let myself go completely and I just realized my husband probably feels the same. What are you ladies doing with hair, nails, makeup, wardrobe, working out, etc?
Hi everyone! I just got a new entry level job at an agency that I’m really excited about. I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to stand out, find mentors, and grow in a 100% wfh environment?
Recently joined a firm remotely and was curious how other firms are on-boarding remotely for their new hires? Mine has been seamless so far, but IT has been a drag getting remote access to everything
In US, it is “Work from Home”
Anyone else’s kids having a tough time napping lately? Not sure if it’s related to my wife and I WFH and him not being in daycare...? He’s also 11 months and trying hard to learn to walk. Development?
I want to move to a remote fishing village in SE Asia and live out my days without excel or ppt
WFH today and answered a conference call while taking a shit. Accidentally had the video on.
Opinions on living in Colorado vs Utah? I’ve heard positives and negatives, but any input is welcomed. Young single female with dog and remote working. Looking for great outdoor activities. That’s about it. TIA!
Anyone else's dog now an ERP expert due to WFH?
Really afraid that MBAs will go back to remote and that I will waste the opportunity to get the time of my life
Can someone give me perspectives on this? PA used to be attractive despite low pay high hours due to its fast path (promotions) & fringe benefit like work from home, parental leave, ect. (To be cont)
I left consulting for a debt settlement fintech company. We are actively hiring for Technical Product Managers. Role is completely remote. DM for details.
Remote work- Day 1, Hour 2: As an extrovert, I am going to die with no people contact! Maybe I can teach my cat to talk 🐱
Any firms that have made the "work from home" decision yet? We've been getting preparation notices for weeks but not officially given the signal.
Does anyone have any insight to google remote roles? Do you have to stay in the US or can you also work remote abroad?
I am burned out physically and mentally! Just not sure how to handle this feel! P.S I am married and a full time consultant... I usually like WFH so cant say I hate this current situation. I hate traveling for work. Anyone with me? How did/do u manage?
It has been 5 weeks since my interview. 3weeks ago I followed up and the CD said they haven’t made a decision yet. I followed up again today. The process has been super slow, it took a month for ...
Received an offer from a smaller consulting firm helping build out a new practice with the same work I am doing now. It is a $20k pay raise however I do really enjoy who I work with and really have no reason to leave besides money. I’m afraid to switch and not like it and be miserable but it is an offer that’s very hard to say no too and everyone I interviewed with was great and came from other big 4’s. I’m still very early on in my career.. two years out of college. Any thoughts and opinions?
What package does a 2nd year manager get at PwC Chicago Tax and what would be the joining bonus? How is the culture over in the office? Does Asians get fair treatment?
When you’re comparing offers how you put a value against benefits like vacation allowance? Just calculate the value of a paid day as a % of base?
Would it be okay for me to travel internationally in a couple of months' time? For details: I'm an Indian citizen with a H1B visa, stamping valid till 2022. Thanks!
Hi 🐠 fam! I received a direct deposit for the Covid stimulus check. I’m not a US citizen/resident, and left the US in Aug, 2018. Any advice on how to proceed? I don’t wanna be in trouble w/ the IRS
23 years old, $0 in debt, $71k cash in the bank, $12.4K invested in the stock market and working Big 4 making 76.2k a year. Currently invested in VOO, VOOG, BRK.B, and MSFT (ROTH IRA & Individual Brokerage A/Cs). Should I be investing more heavily with all the cash I’ve saved up; I’m a little worried about the market volatility, but also I’m 23 so want to cash in on compounding interest.
I’m in my mid-40s with a 7 year old and baby. Is it too late for me to back into public accounting? I was laid off last year and found a great job in a large bank. I miss the flexibility, challenge and rigor of PA. I would love your opinions. Has the ship sailed for me in PA? If I go back I would be an experienced senior; maybe, a year or so from manager.
The recent most billable hours post, inspired me. What is your longest billable day? Mine was 56 hours straight with no break—and the partner was more than a jerk when I was saying no more at the 30 hour point. That was two 24 hour billable days back to back on my time sheet and on the bill, a 360 hour month, and 650 aggregated for two months. And it is one reason (of so many reasons) why this job can suck so much! At least I got a good bonus...
It's out, Deloitte fishies! Go to ToD then click on Compensation Statement to see merit/promotion increases and bonuses! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Am I getting ripped off? Suburban Philadelphia, firm is ~200 attorneys across all offices but ~40 at my location, required billables are 2,040 minimum. Salary is $70,000.
I desperately want to teach JH History, but every job I interviewed for told me no thanks, they only want coaches (two even specified male!!). Super disheartening. Hopefully one day I can do it.
Salary for PwC DDV SA? 4.5 YOE and CPA
Hi folks! There are some openings in PwC for the below roles. Please dm me if you need a referral. Best wishes!
Looking for advice. I’m currently interviewing for a position that pays $20k more than I make now. It seems like the job would not be giving me much for my portfolio and may have some work/life balance issues (but tbh what agency doesn’t). I’ve got piles of student loan debt. I’m only in year 2 of my career. Do I take this job for a year, deal with the downsides, pay off a huge chunk of my debt, then get back to fun stuff? Or will it hurt my career to have a portfolio gap?
Associate. 80k. Looking to make a move potentially to a boutique firm that'll pay at least 5-10k less if I were to guess. But the culture and work seem amazing. Thoughts?
What is staff augmentation? Hear this as a buzz word indicating stay away from this project/firm
I know M&A has a terrible rep, but if there’s anyone who enjoys it (or at least doesn’t completely hate it), could you please say what you like about the practice? Interviewing for an M&A position and really do want to love the job, at least for a year. FYI, I’m retooling from lit, and no, staying at my current firm isn’t an option.
