Which companies outside of consulting are the most impressive (not to the layman but to let's say consultants) to have on your resume regardless of industry? FAANG, GS, KKR, BW

definitely the market makers/hedge funds/PE... renaissance, jane street, two sigma, citadel, kkr, optiver, carlyle, warburg, d.e. shaw, etc among mainstream household names, i would personally put netflix up at the top as their culture of summary firing is pretty legendary and the types of talent they recruit for laterally are top tier

KKR is on a completely different level compared to FAANG, it’s not even close

Not Goldman Sachs. For my specialty in cyber, the smaller Pentest shops that put out the best research and exploits, followed by some mid/large tech companies although those are losing respect, for example amazon is not somewhere a skilled pentester or engineer generally works if their demands can take them to a hyper growth startup.

Amazon... 🙄

For FS at least and depending on what you’re doing, Carlyle, lazard, kkr, bulge bracket front office except for deutsche, blackstone, black rock, etc

You back office bro?

Assuming from a top University, how well regarded is a masters in business analytics from a recruiting standpoint? Considering getting one over an MBA.

Boss is cool giving me some minor additional responsibilities on projects (delegating to other creatives, leading client presentations). How can I parlay this into a promotion to Senior AD? Or ACD?

My adland exit: I worked in new biz for 8+ years and was burning out. For a while I’d been feeling like a cog in the capitalism wheel and needed a higher purpose than pitch decks! I wanted to work in sustainability to tackle the climate crisis and through a series of moves (AMA 👍), I’m now leading global marketing for an NGO called Forest Stewardship Council. A huge relief. I’m also now hiring a Marketing Manager (true reason for this post). Long shot, but details below if this speaks!

Where do I get Intel on certain projects in Deloitte.GPS... I am on bench, just came on board, and have been informed that I need to fill application to be staffed on project... when I try to access job application that internal resource had sent to me, I get two options.. One for functional tech lead for SCION project, Another labeled Consultant, M&C, general. ...how do I find out more what these are? I don't want to blindly get on a project for obvious reasons.

Hello! I have a two part question: 1) is it worth it to obtain an SHRM specialty credential if I don’t have the broader SHRM certification? 2) has anyone gotten the People Analytics or Talent Acquistion credential? If so, how valuable was it from a learning perspective? Do you feel it significantly contributed to your knowledge in either area? Thank you!

My grandma is nearing the end of her life, so I just booked a last minute flight home with cash. I am thinking of booking a returning flight in the next few days with points with United. I may have to cancel/reschedule...does anyone know if they refund points if <1 week out? I can’t find the answer online.
