Does anyone else hate medical coding? I got my CPC and loved learned all about it! But once I started actually working in it, I hate it. They talk about how it’s all about translating procedures to numbers. But it’s not! It’s all about Money. All about how much RVUs the codes have so the provider gets the most reimbursement. With how everything is now a days, I feel like a bad person after a day of work. Just me? Was it just a bad employer that I worked for? I feel lost.

I hate the culture (there is no culture) the way that they communicate (no meetings everything in slack) and the way that they work (alone) It feels pretty much like I am freelancing and I thrive in collaborative environment. I have never felt this isolated in my whole life. It sucks.
Has anyone been in that situation? If I look for another job, should I remove that experience from my linked in? Or should I talk about that if I get interviews?

Got the following offers on the table:

1. Big 4 - Manager, $180k + $20k sign on, told a good expectation is 12-15% bonus next year. 1.5% 401k match and 3% pension contribution. First year cash would be around $225k
2. New, well funded advisory arm of an established business - Engagement manager, $210k, 20-25% bonus. 2.5% 401k match. First year cash closer to $250k

Big 4 is a defined path with history, reputation, and exits. Other place is largely unknown but a lot of comp.

Is there a consultancy out there that is focused more on delivering products, solutions and agile outcomes rather than getting hung up on reams of PowerPoint slides and decks after decks that just say the things client might want to hear with tons of micro level management of the language? Please let me know because I am at the end of my tether. Do I need to move to industry? I love the variety of consulting but tired of playing language and graphics games...

Feel as if I’m constantly behind peers in terms of career progression (e.g. MBB/ FAANG) despite having a decent-ish background (tier 2 consulting and now at top tier finance company in strategy role). I find that the companies I’ve worked at have very set progression based on tenure, with no room for negotiation. I’m really ambitious/ hardworking and I am not sure where to go that would match my goals of career progression. Is it just MBB/ FAANG or is there anywhere else? Any ideas?

Company is asking me to go through 4 hours worth of demos/tutorials then give a 30 min presentation on their tool for my final round. This is on top of three 45 min interviews already. Is this normal?
