Hello! just want to point out PwC MC is a top notch consulting firm (they are in fact ranked higher than S& btw) And *some* of us at S& just need to pop our ballooning egos. For the most part everyone I interact with at the firm understands the value prop behind the acquisition..and to me, the S& brand is on us to carry and prove ourselves in the market. So PLEASE Strategy&, stop whining about the merger for goodness sake, and focus on performing. That's the only way we as a firm are going to work :o
S&4... I am not comparing average PwC and S& projects.. I agree with your description of average projects, at the end of the day it is called MC and SC for a reason. What I was trying to explain is that a lot of the hate stems from projects where both groups are working together in a cross-team environment where you inevitably have everyone doing similar work but with the knowledge that you are being paid differently..
Bain doesn't use think cell. We have our own proprietary software. It's okay. Think cell is probably better. It's at least more transferable.
Some hate between pwc and S&. If S& are mbb rejects, are pwc people strategy& rejects? Ps think cell is the bomb like Ben Affleck in phantoms yo
I love ThinkCell but there are similar tools and add-ons now.
I'm amazed Msft hasn't assimilated the functionality.
EY uses ThinkCell. Parthenon is on Mekko, though.
Think cell looks like shit.
Salty* is the preferred term
S&2, stop acting delusional, seriously. pwc didn't buy 'you', or your colleagues. pwc bought s& for the book of work that they are looking to salvage some value out of. Firms dont pay pennies on the dollar for 'rates' or talent... Guarantee pwc accounted for upwards of 75% attrition even at the more senior levels with the acquisition. you are expendable
Damn, did I trigger you OP? Another faulty assumption! I know a good deal about Booz, PwC, and the acquisition. 'Thanks for playing though'
@McK - subtle. @ OP.... plenty of PwC folks would love to use thinkcell (I personally use Mekko Charts from an MBA subscription not yet expired), but I don't think thinkcell is widely available, and surely you can't expect someone to buy it themselves...
Used to use ThinkCell but sub expired. Now use EY addon that covers 80% of it. Decent.
We are currently piloting and testing a new software that isn't ThinkCell (source: part of testing team)
Dr. ham
Does Accenture have this? Qpt doesn't do much for power reporting and charts
Interesting. I like the idea -- more automation of repetitive tasks is always a plus in my book. Templates would need some rework but I imagine once those are done you can get to 80% really easily -- sounds like a great way to raise the floor on deck quality! If our firm is hesitant to even pay for Slack, though, I can't see this becoming commonly used here.
@D3 Well have you heard of Google?
So much bitterness from the Ps, that's what's wrong with the firm. Gawd I hope we get divested
Analyst > ThinkCell.
Whoa everyone sorry to have offended anyone. I would've replied sooner, but I was suspended from FB. Again. However, I just want to point out that I'm not a cocky asshole, but truthful in all of my statements above. ThinkCell is available for download for all S& / PWCers. I meant no offense by saying you're either lazy or a dumbass. I genuinely thought the majority of PwCers had and used ThinkCell right out of the gate. I was on a project with over two dozen PwCers and they all used it on their own.

D1 - you're an idiot if you can't understand the valuation of a professional services business. Whether you value by earnings or assets, all are a result of the people in the firm (and maybe a little IC). The book of work comes (and leaves) with the staff and relationships
