Which department owns tactical planning process at your agencies (besides account)...brand planning or engagement planning? Any particular process that you’ve found works best?

All AMs on my account are supposed to get planning training, our CS VP was replaced with a VP of Planning but they kept the CS SVP. They said this is part of an “industry trend”. Has anyone else experienced this? I’ve been on the CS side for a while and don’t know the first thing about planning… feeling a bit unnerving about the switch but also open to it if it will benefit my career. Thoughts?
