Let’s say my annual income is ~$350k and I want my retirement savings to be ~$50K. 1. Max out my 401k+ Google match = $30,750. 2. Put $20K to after tax 401k with auto conversion to Roth 401k. I don’t need to worry about IRA then since I’ve already hit my target, right?

Does anyone else feel like the tragedy of this past year is that our profession went from a passion to just another job? And you are questioning more than ever if the benefits aren’t worth the cost? Considering a move to NTT Data in a healthcare consulting role. Mixed reviews in the bowls. Major concerns are bench policy, staff aug roles, 2 week PTO, and high turnover due to job dissatisfaction. Recruiter and mgr had great things to say around growth and opportunity, which doesn’t align with feedback from the bowls or Glassdoor.

Pay down mortgage or put away for retirement? (After maxing out 401K)

I’m 29, make $75k and was planning to buy a house this year. With the market in its current state I don’t think I want to buy a house for 1-3 more years now. So I’m sitting with $100k in cash and about the same in retirement accounts. Given this fact pattern, do I let the cash sit in Ally or start pushing into the market? Also, since I hit my down payment and emergency fund goal, should I bump my 401k contributions up or is it ok to accumulate more cash?
