AAS doesn’t do Sox work. I have never heard of accounting advisory folks being staffed onto SOX
Avoid risk advisory, it audit, risk assurance, internal audit or any variant of them if u dont wanna do that type of work
Thanks for the heads up. I thought I saw a post saying that one of the offices (I think it was LA?) does SOX work in AAS so I was a little scared
What do you define as SOX work? In FAAS I’ve worked on helping clients identify areas where they need to implement or change something in order to comply with SOX for an IPO or SPAC, but I’ve never heard of someone actually doing an audit or testing if Internal controls for SOX, if that’s what you mean.
So we do help clients improve their financial reporting structures. We would look at their current reporting structure to see if their is anywhere we could improve upon, if we can implement new systems and processes to help them, and then test to make sure it works. But its not like we are doing in depth controls testing, and providing assurance based on the results.
AAS never touches internal control. It’s about the number game all day long
