Has anybody made the switch from Big 4 consulting to MBB? What was the interview process like, and how did you prepare?
Anyone exit to McDonalds in Chicago? I see a lot of MBB move there; wondering about the pay and WLB like for a manager role in their Digital Strategy Group
Got an offer for a tier 2 firm and accepted it. Are there any actual risks of getting my offer revoked if I apply to mbb?
Any one who has done CSCP certification and can help guide through the exam preparation ?? Does it help when applying to MBB??
Can somebody refer me at MBB, Accenture, EY and PwC? Victim of Deloitte layoff. Would appreciate any and all the help I can get!
On getting into FAANG. For those who made the switch, what are the typical roles from, say, MBB? How did you go about it? What's needed on the resume if I'm planning 12 months out? Lvl and pay?
How much can MBB Partners make in a year? What is the differential with a PwC or Deloitte Partner?
Has pipeline slowed for you (US): MBB Big 4 Boutiques (Parthenon) Other (ATK, Strategy&)? I know lots of overlap in the type of work and clients but thought this is the best way to segment for now.
How difficult is it to jump from a Big4 to MBB?
McKinsey has pretty traditionally been considered the best of MBB, followed by BCG, then Bain. Given all the scandals its dealt with this past few years do you think its standing within MBB will drop? I think its too big to fall out of the group but I definitely am leaning towards BCG being the new preferred/top option for people trying to break in to consulting.
Took the GRE instead of GMAT, does consulting firm like MBB look at those if it’s high enough?
How hard is it to move to FAANG from a relatively unknown boutique consulting firm? Are there extra leaps compared to MBB or Big 4, or if you get a referral you have similar odds?
Any experienced folks out there make the move from B4 management consulting to MBB with no MBA? Currently an M at B4 but considering the possibility of a move in the near future. Would love to hear your experience.
With so many people reportedly leaving consulting, I’m wondering how common is it to leave for less TC? MBB comp $200k+ at 27. Do most people get increases above that or just go to jobs sitting at $150k but that “have better WLB”? *Not looking to include those that switch to industries with intentional disregard about comp (eg public sector, charity, teaching etc).
Can anyone speak the the human capital practices at their firm? I'm currently in HC consulting and want to continue working in the field, but not sure what opportunities there are in MBB.
Analytics folks at a MBB, what’s your experience been like? What level would I come in at with 8 years of experience?
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
Intern updated her LinkedIn job title to "Paid Intern at Deloitte". Cringe-worthiness should be grounds for dismissal.
I was considering moving to Canada due to visa issues and realized how salaries are so much lower than the US? Plus I see the taxes are higher? So does Canada have a lower standard of living?
Anyone heard anything from droga on their internship this summer? Happening? Not? Anyone being interviewed?
Has anyone started scheduling mental health days? How did your team react to it? With COVID, people are just taking less PTO and a once a month day off sounds really nice to me right now.
If all the top consulting firms made anonymous decks or gave anonymous pitches to a client, eg no branding and the client did not know which firm made which deck, do you actually think that the client would prefer MBB? Is MBB actually coming up with better/more innovative solutions? I feel like I see many repeat or slightly altered solutions on almost all of my cases, are these really things that people at Deloitte/Accenture etc aren’t coming up with?
My 3yr old daughter was playing with 2 different sized crayons yesterday. The bigger one was mom and the smaller one baby! The imaginitive conversations that followed were the best entertainment ever!
My friend has valid H1B petition and stamped visa until Jun 2020. He is filed his extension in premium expecting to get his decision soon. In case if his extension is denied before Jun 2020 contd...
Due to the labor shortage, pandemic, and poor upper management decisions, my ops team cannot support the commitments we made to our clients. I worked hard to build relationships and get their business only to see it crumble. What a mess. Is anyone else having the same experience?
So.. thinking of moving from an internally facing sales role to consulting. What are the risks and what should I ask consulting leadership?
What other ECs are good besides volunteering/nonprofits? My resume doesn’t have a strong track record of community service so I’m worried that any volunteering that I do now will be seen as fake/done purely for MBA apps. Are there any other impactful activities that can fit into resumes like mine?
This article is a good read in terms of how to handle the COVID-19 crisis: https://blog.shrm.org/blog/promoting-workplace-mental-health-in-the-age-of-covid-19
What do people do on vacation? First day of vacation and I can't rest - constant feeling of missing something important from work
Hey Recruitexperts, Anyone hiring Technical Recruiters in Pune or Mumbai? Kindly let me know. Thank You. Regards, SSK
Are MBB still hiring like crazy?
Seems like pharma is the only industry hiring right now- how important is pharma or HCP experience really when trying to get a job at one of those agencies? Will general agency experience in an adjacent vertical like nutraceuticals cut it?
Just finished my first year out of school and have recently moved home to save some money and get a sense of how long remote work will last..... I’m curious if anyone else is in a similar position and further, if there’s interest in pooling consultants together at a remote office that would look a lot like a big rental house on Lake Tahoe
I got laid off today and need a new job asap. Would love to connect with anyone looking for a junior writer.
I’m currently working as a design consultant at a big 4 & it’s my first job as a designer. I’m doing a lot of strategy work and haven’t done any design work at all. Although I want to find a new job, I don’t have any design experience to add to my portfolio to be competitive in recruitment. I’d love to get some advice from people who hired consultants or were once consultants but now working at agency or in-house on how to market yourself during recruitment.
