Whichever firms are winning work and not laying off staff.

The firm's that are actually good at what they do. Think credentials over connections

Just the very top 3-5 firms. People panicking and suddenly Deloitte’s discounted rate isn’t as attractive an option as Mckinsey’s full price rate.

Deloitte. Everything they touch works out well and adds to the increasing revenue gap between the other (Medium 3)

Going on a production in LA last minute, will be my first in person work thing in two years. So excited to be shooting again then realized 90% of my cute work production/LA weather work clothes don’t fit anymore post covid weight gain. Just ugh 😓 I wish it didn’t bother me as much as it does but won’t lie it definitely killed some of my excitement today. I’ve seen some similar posts about woman on here dreading buying new wardrobes to go back to the office and I see you!

Now that the CDC says no masks needed indoors if vaccinated, is anybody concerned what that means for kids under 12? I’m assuming that the honor system isn’t entirely going to work (I.e., some unvaccinated people will go maskless). I don’t want my 5 and 7 year olds around unvaccinated unmasked strangers, but it’s also a bummer to stop taking them places. Not that I was taking them that many places, but the occasional grocery store, shoe store, etc. seems riskier now.

Help! I’m going to a delayed-due-to-covid evening cocktail wedding reception In October in central Massachusetts. I have a closet full of dresses and a black pantsuit, all appropriate, but some are several years old or dont fit perfectly. Since y’all are far more fashionable than I am , what looks would you suggest? I’m 52.

Inspired by the q of what firms are doing right, what are firms doing right for first year associates? Midsized firm, fall 2020 start class delayed to Jan 2021 but some started Nov 2020 to help the business group. Covid meant no "welcome to the firm" happy hour, but I think some got a wine gift box and some got nothing. New fall class just started so I hear the fall 2020/Jan 2021 class is feeling salty/forgotten. What have firms done for first years/ideas to make covid class feel welcome?

Last year at this time we were averaging 20 deaths a day from COVID. We were crying for a vaccine. Today we are averaging 40 deaths a day we have the vaccine and they are whining why do we need mandates. Really?

Has anyone sent out a survey about remote or Covid-19 job burnout/employee well-being that they can possibly share the template questions with me? I found the results for a survey sent out at Deloitte but didn’t have success at looking at some of the questions that were used. Any help would be incredibly appreciated!

30F here in NYC. Been single for 1.5 years now from a 4 year relationship and frankly still not over it. Unsure if the recovery process has been so long because I haven’t really been dating during covid or if this sounds like a typical timeframe to get over an ex. Thoughts?

Staying at the Ritz Carlton - Dove Mountain, AZ for a long weekend. Before coming, I called and asked what the COVID restrictions were, I was given vague information and once I arrived realized that the restrictions were more stringent than described, and the only restaurant open for dinner service on hotel property is a mile away, near the golf course. When asking the hotel how we are supposed to get there for dinner, they told us that we would have to walk as they are understaffed....

My 4 YO takes riding lessons at a small barn outside of the city. I hopped on a horse there recently for old time's sake, but haven't really ridden in years. A casualty of the legal profession, along with the rest of my hobbies from my former country life. His instructor asked me if I'd be willing to get back in the saddle. Part of me is like, this is the change I need. It will help me lose this COVID-15lbs. But I'm also terrified and I have no idea why. (cont)

Yesterday on a shoot we had a covid positive person in the cast (she did the test after the shoot) and tomorrow the same crew will be shooting even knowing about it and usually no one takes a test before the shoot. Is this normal?

Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad

Hey! I’m a self-contained teacher for grades K-2. This is my first year at the school I’m currently in, and apparently in the yearbook every year they have a class page solely for the handful of students in my classroom. They do this instead of putting my students in the yearbook page of the class they participate in for inclusion services. I feel like this is extremely wrong and violates some privacy laws. Do y’all have suggestions on how to bring this up with admin and the yearbook director?
