You'll probably do better at a smaller firm if this is your goal. They will be better positioned to promote top performers quickly. Leapfrogging in the big 4 is not very common I know a couple ACN MDs and Big 4 partners who made it in their early 30s (so 9-10 years total experience). But that was many years ago and the models have changed.

Usually smalls firms actually do promote faster for their top performers, as a way to retain talents. Most people, given the opportunity to go for a MBB firm vs a small firm would go for MBB due to prestige/money. So small firms try to convince these talents by offering better WLB/faster partner track/additional compensation and other perks that usually bigger firms doesn't have to worry about.

Is EYP considered T2? Or something else?

smart

EYP merged with TAS so branding is a little diluted - still solid T2 shop

To avoid arguing about what is or isn’t T2, let’s just include that info here too :)

We had a guy just make partner who is class of 2014 undergrad. Also have folks making it to senior consultant / manager (so, $200-300k TC) just 2-3 years out of undergrad. Definitely a lot of stretch opps for high performers

Exactly, definitely putting in extra hours to get that kind of promotion

The key isn't about how fast you can bottom out in consulting. The question is how fast can you jump to industry and make $6+

damn dude $6+???

funny

Maybe he means 600k?

I'll give 1 guess

How do I market work to a junior, with the understanding that I can’t simply assign things given my position. I had a pretty diplomatic “no thanks” from one associate that expressed an interest in the practice area and I think there’s anxiety about overextending when there's partners’ work to do.

I did an internship with a boutique consulting firm that got extended for a full year while I was in school full time as well. On top of that I have 16 months of experience in my B4/T2 consulting firm, and I have a ton of other experience on top of that interning at banks and startups. TLDR; I have 3+ years of experience, 1 year at a small consulting shop and 1.5 years at B4 upon graduation. Is it true that none of this experience really counts?
