Wharton doesn't have that strong of a brand in Europe so I can see that.
Many Europeans would go for H, S, MIT and maybe Yale just because those schools have a strong name beyond their MBA programs.
Not saying whether that is good or bad.
And in case I was to negative earlier on - INSEAD is a great place to be, both in Fontainebleau as well as in Singapore!
I’d say the quality is similar across the schools (maybe HS>INSEAD~Wharton), the brand of HSW is stronger though, partially (or mainly) due to their undergrad programs.
Frankly, you can’t go wrong with either, but if you definitely want to stay in the US for the whole life (especially beyond NYC/SF), HSW/M7 is a safe bet. If you want to build an international business or career living in different countries, INSEAD is hard to beat.
(Source: went to Wharton and INSEAD, have tons of friends from HSW and INSEAD)
In the US, HSW by far. In Europe, INSEAD is very much comparable. Something like Harvard > Stanford = Insead > Wharton.
In general? HSW. On an individual level, as always, it depends.
If by better you mean overall prestige and reputation HSW without a question. Not even a question.
If you’re talking about experience then it’s a debate. Otherwise not a debate.
