Is it a good time to buy a condo now - 350k. My portfolio is 161k annual excl. bonus, 45k in savings, 38k in 401k. Rest of savings went into edu loan and fam support. Currently renting for 1700.
Can any recent EY joiners provide their experiences on how long it took to hear back after each round. I did the virtual screen and had two interviews back-to-back with SMs.
Does anyone else think the Delta variant will lead to shutdowns and layoffs again? I want to leave my job but fear being the first to get the chop if March 2020 repeats itself. Should I just jump ship already? If it helps, I’m not in travel PR.
Does anyone have financial anxiety ? I realize I have a toxic relationship with money, maybe because I just started my career (I’m 26yo). But when it comes to spending, I get anxious. I did everything right: saved enough for emergency fund, 401k, Roth IRA and investment stocks. However, I’m always afraid to spend a lot for certain circumstances (ie. Health, moving/new apt, etc..) and be left with less money since I work so hard for it. How do you overcome this stress and anxiety ?
I created a LoFi playlist on YouTube for consultants like us to vibe and work on (“Pls Fix Playlists”) It’s made me at least 2x more productive in editing my resume while searching for exit opps - so hope it does the same for ya’ll! Let me know what ya’ll fishes think: https://youtu.be/_PWxgWMtP5I
Our baby is due soon so we’ve made the decision that we will only have visits from vaccinated family members (not realizing it would be an issue) only to find out that my Dad will never be getting vaccinated, planned to lie about it AND asked other family members lie to us about his vaccination status too… when we found out and asked him about it, he started to FREAK out. Now I’m questioning if we’re being unreasonable… how have you guys been handling unvaccinated people meeting your newborns??
Does anyone know someone who was placed on a pip who then found a way to get on medical leave so could apply to jobs while still employed? (Idea being that you greatly extend your opportunity to look for jobs while still being able to say you’re at current firm. Example: Person gets 1 month pip, gets medical leave, then is able to look for new jobs for many months rather than 1 month. If you don’t know anyone, any opinions on how this could work?
I found this article and wondered what people here thought about it. It deals with teacher licensing tests. Among other things, it presents the case for a positive correlation between performance on a licensing test and performance in the classroom. It also argues there is an outsized number of teachers (over 50%) that don’t pass the licensing test on the first try. Any newer teachers out there who can weigh in on their teacher prep program and the licensing test experience? https://www.nctq.org/publications/Driven-by-Data:-Using-Licensure-Tests-to-Build-a-Strong,-Diverse-Teacher-Workforce/
I am a L10 working in the SAP space within CDO at Accenture. I have been at the firm for a little over 7 months and would like to know come the next promotion cycle how I could switch from CDO to C&M.
I have a final round interview for a non-investment role at a hedge fund in the NYC area. I was told I would be discussing comp with the founder of the fund. What kind of compensation can I expect going into the conversation? The firm has about 35 employees and $15bn AUM. Role is business development/client service associate and this would be my first full time role. I just want to have a general idea of what comp could/should be so I feel prepared to discuss
Anyone in Anthem’s Strategy Consulting (ASC) group that can give insight on the company, role, culture etc.
Interviewing for a role at BP, what are they like as a firm to work at? It’d be the commercial/strategy side of the business rather than production. I understand they went thru a major re-org to be relevant for the future energy industry. How’s that going?
I am on h1b right now. My husband has GC, he will be eligible to apply for citizenship next year. Should we wait until he becomes citizen to apply GC or should I apply now ?
Any insight into Mastercard Advisors? Have a new grad opportunity there. My start date at a B4 strat got postponed so decided to interview around. I'm interested in data + analytics and would want to go into industry eventually, but conflicted because unlike BA programs at CapOne or Visa, you're still working for an external client. Feel like there will be a broader variety of projects in B4 and while I'm casually interested in fintech, I don't want to get pigeonholed in FS so early on
Is it worth it to hold out until manager in FDD? Or exit now as a senior into a senior m&a role
Feeling like my firm has a very outdated parental leave policy (and none of the women partners have children)! What is the parental leave policy at your firm? Please include: (1) size of firm; (2) location of firm (city, state); (3) how many paid weeks off from firm (not state/fed benefits); (4) other policies such as ramp up/down time, etc.
Is to possible for those counselled out from MBB to make their way back? Particularly at the junior level, so counselled out as an analyst then boomerang back at the consultant level
