I'm currently a Scon at EY with 21 fixed CTC, tier-1 mba with 3 yr of work ex
PwC has offered me 28 LPA fixed..have categorically told that it's the max they can offer

I already have an offer at 32LPA (fixed) at a startup, how much can they negotiate in case if i tell them about this offer

I have a decade of software development experience, finished MBA recently and took a job as TPM 6months back. Trying to transition into Product management in the same company. What should I learn before starting this conversation. There seems to be so much material out there. Where do I start to understand the process and metrics.

Just saw a friend who didn’t know anything about programming got a new job offer at 160k, doubling his previous salary in other fields, after going through a short 3-month boot camp (Code Smith). If the bar is so low (relative to going to do an MD/DDS/JD/MBA) for entry, why do you think not more people have joined the field to balance the pay of SDE when compared to other fields/industries? Kind of labor Econ question. I am curious as I don’t work in this field but many of my friends do.

Situation: I have a MBB and Amazon PMT offer for summer internship that I need to choose. MBB comes with FT offer, Amazon PMT will most likely result in return offer. If I go with MBB, I plan to exit to big Tech in 2-3 years. Y1 TC for both will be quite similar (around 230k).

I am an HR “Manager” with 8+ years experience. Bachelors in HR and a SHRM-CP cert. Currently employed at a manufacturing facility w/ 80 employees in Metro Detroit, Michigan (Macomb Twp). I am a department of one with no direct reports under me. I feel as though my role is more of a “generalist” position as my duties are more aligned with that. I am currently at $75k and promised to be increased to $82k in the next month. Bonuses are discretionary and never the same amount. Fairly compensated?

I'm hiring and I've just learned that my HR department is screening candidates by asking them about very specific functions and frameworks.

"Can you describe your experience using Element#remove()?"

"Can you describe your experience migrating from X framework to Y framework?"

We don't use Y framework and have no plans to use Y framework in the foreseeable future. I also don't expect candidates to have all functions memorized. How on Earth did they find out about Y framework!? 🙄🫣
