Not so humble brag time: I work for a boutique firm in a specialized field of consulting. Starting analyst base is ~$75K, bonus estimated at ~30% of salary, health/eye/dental are all free benefits (until you’re married), quarterly profit sharing bonus, gift matching of 3-to-1 up to $10K, and a 15% of salary 401k contribution that immediately vests regardless of what you put in (i.e., I put in 1%). Also I got a raise in 5 months and an office not long after. My target total compensation is $130-150K (including 401k benefits) and I’m 23.

Boutique firms sometimes pay more for specialization.... you’ll be surprised that I know a hairdresser who makes more than 200k

Seems to me your question leaves out important information. Best for who? If you are a techie who wants to build complex systems or do SAP implementations, you’d probably have better career advancement and compensation at a different firm than someone focused solely on corporate strategy work. Depending on your personality and cultural fit, and your capabilities, you might thrive at one firm and struggle at another. Yes you could simply compare average salaries and times to partner or whatever, but that would still not mean that firm would be the best choice for everyone as it relates to those factors.

Did you just give your compensation including benefits? So if your firm’s load is 40%, since your benefits are so good, we should knock 40% off that “targeted salary"

Did anyone else come from a family that never says I love you, hugs, etc and then marry into a family that is the exact opposite. It makes me feel uncomfortable dealing with my touchy feely in-laws

Why is it ok for white republican male to be easily elected as a president but minorities, democratic and women candidates have to be perfect to the tee in order to be considered for president?

AD’s/producers: when pitching a project to a photographer, do you usually include other photographers work in the deck or do you just stick to that specific photographer's work + stock to “woo” them?
